What do you use multiband compressors for?
I've typically thought of multiband compression for mixing... Toning down guitar pick noise, or bringing out the breathiness of a vocal come to mind.
With the new Bleass multiband compressor out, I've seen some people talk about using this sort of compression to sculpt tone, which I've admittedly never done.
I'd love to hear how people think about multiband compression, how they're using it (especially for sound design), tips and tricks, and of course (because I'm always GASing) I'm always happy to hear about people's favorite apps!

I use barkfilter to lazily make my master balanced on all frequencies
LFO on lo/hi band freq makes phase distortion style effect. I tested BLEASS mbc both for this and for normal compressor things like glueing together mix and adding punch to drums in this jam.
sort of a quick and lazy way to master a track along with an eq amd limiter, the 2-minute mastering solution.
I'll have to try that. Barkfulter on my master is generally where I start and stop for using a MBC with a jam.
A multiband compressor is a really great way to sculpt rhythm guitar tone. My favourite app for this is FAC Medusa, it's really amazing what you can do to guitars with it, another option is FabFilter Saturn which you can also use as a sorta multiband compressor as well. Should also work with other multiband compressors though.
Another use for MB compressors is to shape drum loops, or on a drum bus.
Bass tone is my biggest use of a MBC other than mastering. They allow you to really crush or push different frequencies without clipping on one side or fully removing them on the other. It's great for figuring out exactly what you like about your bass instrument so you work with just that portion of it. You could do similar things with eq, but i love using a MBC because with something like an OTT where you can simultaneously expand and crush a band you can dial in some lovely overdrive in that tone.
