Loopy pro and gr16 grooverider

I set up a set of buttons to act as pads to use my drums from gr16 on my loopy template…. I want to set up another set of buttons to play chords of piano or marimba instead of single notes… I am fairly new to midi….when I try to do it the sounds are not correct and they are single notes instead of chords…. Basic question I guess can a loopy button trigger a chord as opposed to single note

All you need to do is set up all the Send Midi actions that you need for the button. If you've done that, then check that GR-16 > Settings > Midi Mode: Poly is set, and that the Poly button at the top-right corner is on.

Are you sure you are sending the notes to a part that is set up for polyphony? On grooverider’s keys can you play a chord in keys mode?

  • This button turns on Poly mode for the part/voice. If it isn't highlighted, the part is monophonic.

  • Thankyou wim and espiegel 123….i had the poly button turned on…. But did not have it turned on in settings so will try that … Thankyou…. I will try when I get home …. Also espiegel…. I used the notes to send to it (not cc) from loopy… and it seems as though all of the notes are not being played or that they don’t match…. Sorry I know I’m not explaining well… when I get home I will open it up again and see what happens when I turn poly on in settings and be better prepared to explain what exactly is going on… Thankyou very much for responding… I think the loopy pro app is fantastic and hope to keep educating myself a bit at a time to take advantage of many of the features it has … although it seems over my head… I sing and play guitar and am 60 so don’t seem to pick things up very quickly anymore and am very new to midi…. Will post again when I see where I am at

If you post a screen recording that shows all the setup details of the actions and mixer and Grooverider and shows the issue, we might be able to better advise.

  • Thankyou for responding again…. Have gotten pulled away for the moment.. and haven’t had a real amount of time to spend… I did however decide it might be more practical to just set up a button to open gr16 and play the pads there…as opposed to the way I did the drums which was to creat buttons for all the ones I use in gr16… I will try when I get a moment and would still like to know correct way to get button to sample a whole chord… thanks again and will return soon
