Piano Motifs generated chill track
This track is generated and played entirely by the Piano Motifs app while sitting in a coffee shop this morning.
First I generate an 8-bar pattern in Piano Motifs that sounded cool, then locked that setting in and appended about 35 more generated patterns to it. Used its Arrange area to delete less interesting ones and assemble them. When the Motif was completed I loaded Piano Motifs into AUM and linked up a bunch of synths/drum apps to it and let it play away. Some instruments assigned to melody, others to the accomp/bass channel. All I did was turn instruments ON/OFF while it plays to make it sound more interesting (added a cymbal crash here and there in DrumJam while it plays). This track is the result.
Piano Motifs is playing the following instruments:
Drums:
Ting, Skaka,Borsta, Slammer (and had a Drumjam loop playing)
Instrument & presets used:
MoodUntits (Pulsar Deep Mod)
iFretless Bass (Acoustic Upright)
Thumbjam (Vibes)
SoundFonts: (Choir, Digital keys)
Sunrizer (Pebbles)
RingsFX (Wooden Block)
Korg Module Pro (Strings Tine EP)
Nambu (Cosmic Rain)
Needs a solo probably, if anyone wants to add one go right ahead.

Nice and chill. Thanks for sharing your workflow. I also like using locking to create tracks out of several motifs.
Only 35? Just kidding. Piano Motifs is my all time favorite for generating ideas. Sounds like you’re becoming a fan, too. My approach is a little different. I like to output a lot of MIDI patterns and load them into Cubasis over multiple tracks and try out different synths on each. I like to change keys occasionally. I haven’t figured out how to do that with AUM. When I get something I like, I freeze it to audio. This makes the mixdown process really fast. If I don’t like it, I just delete it and try something different. The end result is that I typically have 30-40 tracks of little bits and pieces that seem to work together.
I have never tried this in a coffee shop, but I once did it while cruising down the Mississippi River on the top deck of the Riverboat Twilight. If you ever find yourself in LeClaire Iowa, I highly recommend it.
Nice one, bro. Keep them coming.
Interesting. You can also upload a number of tracks on SoundCloud free, Dave. Avoids the downloading here. Youkll probably get more listens. Have a lovely weekend, bro.
Really enjoyed this 🙏
I liked that it wasn’t just one motif (I’m very guilty of that) and it progressed nicely through different themes. Great choice of instruments as well.
PM is a great app for inspiring lots of different creations… keep them coming 😊
