Behind The Curtain
A post-rock influenced track, loud guitars (and quiet guitars too), tracked and mixed in Logic. Lyrics (which are all about death 💀 😮) in the spoiler.
A glimpse of you
That I see
Underneath the willow tree
A glimpse of me
As I was
When you were still fond of me
And so you fall away from me
Into the night you cannot see
Fly away from me
Sigh inside of me
We both know nothing is certain
When you look behind the curtain
My life with you
Feels to me
Like I’m adrift on an endless sea
And we can’t grasp
The mystery
As it fades out quietly
And so you drift away from me
Into that cold and deadly sea
Fly away from me
Sigh inside of me
We both know nothing is certain
When you look behind the curtain

I just found the time to listen, this one sounds so familiar. Technically, on the pair with mainstream music, the guitar complements singing perfectly. I would say, this one is right there with the best of your work. Bravo! 🤩
Great track. Kind of made me feel Chris Isaac just for a second, and I think he’s really awesome and underrated
Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment, always appreciated
Yeah I've always loved him, he has an incredible voice.
It’s another strong song. The chorus is catchy and I like the instrumental outro and the way the drums ramp up at the end works really well ;-)
Thanks - and yes ramping up the drums at the end was a great idea
A very good track, indeed, featuring a famous Richard Yot cadence. The guitar part is excellent. I listened to a poet today who said absence is insidious cause remembering brings the absence back to life, I think you’re doing more than one track a month these days. Is that the case?
Thanks for listening 🙏 And yes currently I'm writing two or three songs a month, they seem to come much more easily now that I have written so many.
Love this! It’s so easy to listen to. Takes me back to a good time in my life.
Enjoyed this one a lot. Very catchy guitar riffs at the end and just a great sound throughout 🙏
Thanks! I thought this thread was dead and buried, but you've bought it up for some air
