  • Cinematic and very uplifting with those majestic chords.

  • Thanks for listening @richardyot. Appreciated!

  • Definitely cinematic good vibes here

  • Thank you @Drrabbitfoot for listening and commenting.

  • This one is a lesson in “voice leading” where each change in a chord has a 1-2 1/2 step alteration in 1-2 voices. Nice work sustaining these harmonic “lines” while improvising.

I know artists hate comparisons to existing and typically popular artists (unless it’s one of their heroes) but the synth sound made me recall the work of Vangelis. When he made those tracks that hardware was extremely expensive for us non-pros. We have wonderful tools on our IOS devices.

  • Thx for the analysis @McD. I’m gonna post another shortly that is something like a Shepard’s scale, but not.

Looking forward to that… I wonder if your “barber’s pole” of sound will go up or down continuously.
Looking at the Wikipedia page for “Shepards Tone” I see that 2 parallel Shepards Scales separated by
a tritone creates the “Tritone Paradox”… I need to locate an audio example of that technique and see
    how it “feels”.

  • I liked trying to follow the chord changes, but they kept changing! When I thought I knew what would be next, it wasn’t. I like that sort of thing. The bass drum and cymbal crashes at unexpected times were… well… unexpected. But they worked very well. Looking forward to the Shepard’s scale piece. BTW, I love Shepard’s pie. I was not familiar with the term Imperator, so I looked it up. Apparently it has something to do with Ancient Rome, or the Java programming language. But based on the picture, I’m thinking it was about a horse. I asked Karen about that and she told me all about him. She was a competition rider in her younger days and competed in county fairs as a teen girl on her horse Fresca. I wish I knew her then! But I digress. Nice song.

  • @McD check out First Flight. It does go up and down.
Thx @Paulieworld. Indeed, the cymbals are not exactly where you’d expect them. It has to do with the attack of the strings, maybe. Yes, the horse and the victorious general. Have a great weekend, bro!

  • I wish I had something constructive to say, but honestly you can't really criticise perfection, can you? This was amazing. Hella cinematic and flows so well. :)

  • Thanks for listening @jwmmakerofmusic. I missed your kind comment of several weeks ago. Hope you’re good, bro.

I'm doing pretty well I must admit. Okay, so I had to sell my OP-1 Field to make ends meet, and that made me a little sad. But other than that, I'm doing just fine. :)

    How've you been bud?

  • Gosh @jwmmakerofmusic, I’m sorry you had to do that. But you have a great attitude. My partner just had a knee replaced. Lots of pain here the past couple of weeks. The rest is all good. Be well, my friend.

  • Lovely 🙏
Hope your partner is doing well, my sister had hers done a couple of months ago and was in a lot of pain but she is fine now.
