JWM - Neon Streets (A Short New Wave/Synthwave Song in FLSM and CB3)(Now with Video!)
So right, I've been listening to some New Wave music yesterday and wanted to try my hand at it. I created the instrumental in FLSM, mostly using Linndrum samples for the drums. The bass was the supersaw synth, the guitar is this steel guitar preset in DW Sampler with FX added to make it sound more electronic, the little ostinato is Minisynth, and I forgot what I used for the pad sound. I think 3xOSC if I'm not mistaken.
Of course I recorded and processed the vocals in Cubasis 3. CB3's Minilogue synth is the perfect carrier for DerVoco. All of this was done on my iPhone, mostly while sitting in the lobby of my apartment building (except I recorded the vocals back in my flat).
Of course I used Logic for quick AI mastering, and voila. We have a cheesy song. 😂
Cheers and enjoy.

Dig the instrumentals.
Thanks mate. 😎
Sounds like it was fun to make. I like your vocoder actually . Good positive vibes
Thanks mate. It was quick and fun to make. Easy peasy.
Really enjoyed this one. Thank you for graciously allowing me to add a video to it.
Bloody brilliant work @MadeofWax ! I love it!
Glad you liked it 😊
Of course mate. I'm glad you did that for me. Cheers. 🍻
Outstanding collaboration with @MadeofWax. Really enjoyed it. I have a questing for Mac - can this be done on an iPad, or would I need something with more horsepower? I would love to start adding more visuals to my stuff, but don’t want to drop a lot of cash for a new computer. Any suggestions for an iPad based animation tool?
@Paulieworld
I use my PC. It has a low end graphics card, an Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB. If I could afford to upgrade to something more powerful I would. It takes hours overnight to render anything and I render at low resolution (1024x576).
If you want to do still images there are apps for iPad
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/draw-things-ai-generation/id6444050820
And then you can use a video editor like V N ( https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vn-video-editor/id1343581380 )to pan and zoom for the "Ken Burns" effect. Everything I have seen for iPad that mentions video looks like it requires a subscription. Search "Stable Diffusion" on the app store and you'll find a few.
I haven't used an Apple computer in years so I'm not sure how well Stable Diffusion is supported on that side of things.
I've watched a few YouTube videos about using services to render things, Google Collabs and so on but it can be confusing and if I'm paying for a service I hate to waste time and money stumbling through the process.
I think eventually there will be video on demand services where people will build front end software to make it easier and text to video is getting better all the time.
For now I'm trying to learn what I can and getting by with my meager computer specs.
Another example of how music and image lift each other to a greater gestalt. I liked the vocal sound, too. And the repetitiveness. Good work, guys.
That has very early 80s written all over it. The images definitely fit really well with the music.
Great job guys.
Thank you so much mate! I'm so happy we captured the vibe. ☺️
Thanks mate. Much appreciated.
Really enjoyed this, a nice AV marriage
Thank you. JWM makes great Synthwave music and I had been meaning to make a video for one his tracks for a while now. I was happy for the opportunity.
@jwmmakerofmusic and @MadeofWax … Great combination of talents … as Harry Stotle said ‘The hole is greater than the sum of its tarts’ or something like that 🤔
I agree 100%. MadeofWax does fantastic visuals.
I'm flattered.
LOL! Thanks mate. I appreciate you as well as everyone here.
