I Gotta Smoke (Gangsta Rap)
I’ve never done a rap song before. I thought I would give it a try. What could possibly go wrong?

Music is absolutely awesome.👍🏻 Not sure about the main voice.🤔😃
I agree about the “vocals”. I found it on Looperman. The dude sounds like he is stoned to the bone. I enhanced them by running multiple tracks using Other Desert Cities to make them ever stranger. It was fun for a while.
I recently did a search for the most played tracks on SoundCloud. For the most part, they seemed to be some sort of rap. That’s really not my thing, but I just thought, what the hell, why not. I have been playing around with vocals lately. I don’t sing very well, so I get them from various places and build the “music” around them. If nothing else, it’s something new and different for me. Thanks for listening.
I like the beat actually , very cool percussive stuff. As long as it was fun. If you need a rapper next time let me know
I like the beat to this, is it from blocs wave? I’m not into rap much either, but enjoy some of the great grooves many of the rap songs have. You do your percussion stuff very well on songs I’ve come to notice. Kudos to you for exploring and expanding your music creativity, you did a good job.
Thanks! If I ever do another, it will be upbeat and happy sounding. This one was a bit weird, but it was fun. I remember the first rap song I ever heard, and I really enjoyed it. In 1979, it was new and refreshing.
If I do another, I’ll send you a link to the backing track.
You have a really good ear! Actually, it was ALL Blocs Wave samples. I guess I just got lazy. I bought a lot of it when I was getting started. There is some very good material in their sound packs. Some others, not so much. If nothing else, it’s a good source to kick off new ideas to build on. Thanks for the nice words. I appreciate your feedback very much. I hope you have a great day! It’s supposed to be in the 70s here today. I’ll be going out on the patio as soon as I post this.
Thanks! Hope you have a good day too! Mid 70’s here, with sunny Carolina blue sky.
Yeah, blocs wave is great for sparking some ideas. I’ve bought many of the packs, mostly for drum sounds.
Off to a gig now.. Have a great weekend!
Have a great gig!
That’s a rap. Do another, mate.
I’m on it.
I don’t get high anymore… but I still think stoned thoughts. - Iggy Pop.
