not yet ab compatible but looptastic producer has great drum loops and they all automatically time stretch to whatever loop you initially stick in. the ones by billy martin of medeski martin and wood are especially brilliant! looptastic works kinda like loopy (which i like also) but the fact that its got preloaded loops makes it easier to experiment. just drag em over.
idrum has some great apps featuring drums from wutang clan, depeche mode to name a few but no audiocopy/paste and no ab so that sucks.
nowadays i just like using beatmaker to sample drum fills off songs i like as most drum loops by themselves sound generic unless its got something unique to the timing or theres an added element that makes it unique.
if looptastic producer gets audiobus, it's gonna be a contender. Great UI and that time stretching business is very very good. drag the right edge of a clip to loop ala logic is also smashingly absent from ios music daws. Nanostudio comes close with patterns but that's about all I'm aware of.
really? nanostudio has features similar to looptastic?
but the fact that theyre not ab compatible is a deal killer for me
also just remembered studio m which has looptastic loops (or studio hd for ipad users i think) has an export feature so you can pull those loops into audioshare, remaster, loopy or just email them instead of doing the itunes computer sharing thing with looptastic.
here is a link for some bm2 files...hope this helps.. http://www.ibeatmaker.com/bmk/
Whoa.. badass. Newbie question here. How to upload those kits into BM2?
Easiest is add file to dropbox. Go to the home bm2 page. Sharing. Import from Dropbox. Most (all?) are drum machine so add a new one and use it (you'll find it in "My content")
Many thanks for this!
@gjcyrus no, Nanostudio doesn't have similar features - pardon my run on thought there!
I was referring to Nanostudio's ability to create a midi pattern in the song view and then click a handle and drag to the right to have it repeat as long as you like - you don't have to copy and paste it over and over again like MTD and Auria. Not sure how cubasis or BM handle this.
Hey guys, as I mentioned before....I was going to port a smaller version of my pop/rock BM2 drums to Nanostudio...these are perfectly panned and balanced...no need to fuss with anything really. A simple set of 16 pads and gorgeous acoustic drums. Enjoy!

You can hear them here:
@DerekBuddemeyer....im really diggin your pop kits keep em coming
When Toontrack EZ drummer appears in the form of an ios app, it will be the real deal. At this point there may be RAM limitations which are holding them back.
i think your right on that....wow
Is there a ToonTrack rumor?
As it seems to come with 5Gb of sounds, I'm guessing that an Ios version would need to be cut down somewhat! Still, maybe one day...
Anyone have/use DrumStudio...thoughts?
I have DrumStudio, and I love it. I use the export feature to separate out my kick, snare, etc. onto different tracks, then use Drumagog in Auria to replace the sounds.
The stock sample are good though.
Since you mentioned DrumAGog, have you or anyone else tried Igog? Made by same company.
The igog demos look impressive but it doesn't mention stuff like background audio or ACP. And it is iPhone only. Not updated since 2010. I think i'll save my money on this one unless it gets an update.
@philw - thanks for the breakdown! Didnt realize it was iphone only.
@spookyzoo - thnx for stochastik tip. Downloading it now. i like how it will add a new feel to every measure to avoid the repetiveness (did i spell that right?) while still keeping the underlying groove.
@gjcyrus Cool, how are your first impressions of Stochastik?
i dig it! it sucks as its not ab compatible so what ive been planning on doing is just playing ideas through audiobus ala djay, glitchbreaks, then play stochastik alongside and if theres a groove i like, just to copy and paste that pattern into another app. weird though, i couldve done something wrong but by itself with say djay, you couldnt hear both apps, but when i switched on audiobus to play both djay and glitchbreaks, i could then hear stochastik.
my main reason for liking it is no matter how great a groove is, if it doesnt change even slightly after awhile, i get bored but just having some extra hi hats change up every now and then is enough to maintain my interest. I'll keep you posted how i end up liking it. the bpm analysis for djay ended up frustrating me last night so after purchasing stochastik and playing with it for awhile, all my energy went into figuring out why djay wasnt getting this loop right.
Plus 1 for stochastik
edit: also wanna give props to the stochastik developer for giving precise control over bpm. you can manually type in bpm down to hundredth. when working with sampled loops live, helps so much to avoid drift
Actually, the drums in Sampletank are pretty good also. It has triplet quantize, and looping. Really nice samples and various kits.
Hey guys, I'm the creator of Drum Beats+. Thanks for checking out my app. We have it for Mac too by the way Just wanted to let you know we're in the process of adding Audiobus to it and also coming out with a few more packs. Audiobus rocks. Any other requests - let me know!
Thanks for the update!
Here's a demo i just made up of BeatMaker2's keyboard sampler and it's use for drums. This is a Metal Kit sampled at 3 different velocities.
I really like Stochastic, an intuitive way to get varied beats rather than the metronomic repetition that you can get with other drum machines (unless you put a lot of effort into it to make it otherwise).
Stochastik would be so cool with Audiobus. Contacted the developer several times with no real yes or no answer. Probably time to ask again.
EDIT: Sent email...will pass on any details if a reply comes.
Hi Spooky, do you have a link on how to contact dev or maybe reference this post? I'd like to request Audiobus from him as well. Strength in numbers
whoa, impaktor is on bus now!!! this needs to be mentioned in this thread!
Hey @gjcyrus, sure
This appears to be their main email support contact for the app...

Normally I wouldn't recommend pestering a via personal twitter account, but Hell..we want Audiobussable Stochastik!
One of the developers at Xitive is a guy named Aaron, he has been helpful on other issues, kinda quiet about AB....you can tweet pest him here @aaronblohowiak
Good to hear the recommendation paid off.
