MIDI layers in Drambo -Program Change multiple synths

Anyone can instruct on how to set up Midi Layers from one channel to multiple channels in Drambo?

  • Does MIDI Layers expose 16 MIDI output ports when loaded in Drambo? If it does, you can simply wire each one to a different Drambo track. If it does not, send its output to a MIDI Output module, set to MIDI feedback, Channel OMNI. Then configure each other track (tap on track header at left) to receive External MIDI from MIDI Feedback on one of the MIDI channels being transmitted by Layers. Let it Receive MIDI Always. Basically, MIDI feedback is as if the MIDI exits Drambo and re-enters from outside, so it's treated the same as input from an external keyboard. That means you can record it in the sequencer, as well as using it to play/control instruments.

  • It does expose. I just couldn’t figure how to connect to each channel. Output of layer to input of Auv3 synth

  • Cool. So, load the AUv3 synth, it should show a MIDI input. Tap on the MIDI input, then select the correct output from Layers, easy. This is the way all hookup works in Drambo; tap a destination, then select one of the flashing sources. Just remember, data in Drambo only flows left to right, and vertically down. You can even jump from one rack to another; it doesn't care.

    thank u!
by connecting the midi layer it disconnects the Drambo sequencer.
how do i split midi signal?
I use Midi mixer but confused of routing. also there are setting of each channels, i try different settings

I don't know much about the Drambo sequencer.

Why do you need MIDI Layers, and what are you using it for? It seems kind of inconsistent with a modular system.

Edit: The MIDI mixer should work for you, combining the track input (from the sequencer) with output from Layers.

  • Not sure if this information is in the Help Section, but in Cubasis 3, if you have set up Layers to play single or multiple parts using a combination of “on” and “mute” note switches in a project and halfway through you make an edit followed by a restart, the “on” and “mute” note switches behave by having the opposite effect. To correct this issue, enter a Midi CC0,1 on the Layers track at the beginning of your project and all switches will be reset to off

I wanted each “scene” in Drambo to have a different set of synths presets so it could be a continuous long set instead of loading a new project for each song.

MIDI mixer worked. I will try to load template as soon as I finish
