Imaginando BAM - Options for working with Audio and MIDI clips
The latest update from Imaginando mentions a couple new features, so I wanted to find out how they work:
**From the app store - Notes for Version 1.1.0
- Audio clips support (they can be added by drag/dropping into matrix cells. Clips can have both midi and audio)
- Added new context menu item for matrix clip cells for managing audio clip properties
So, after experimenting a little bit here's what I found but I still have some questions:
- Drag and drop from the Browser panel to a matrix cell
- Tap and hold on a matrix cell and select Import to select files from the Files app, both audio and MIDI clips *See Note 1 below
- Tap and hold on a cell containing an audio clip and a menu option called "Audio" pops up which allows adjusting BPM, clip length, and time signature.
- The browser allows adding Files folder bookmarks, but only audio files will appear visible. If a folder is added with only MIDI files, nothing appears.
- It does not appear to be possible to add MIDI clips to the Pool, which does make sense if the Pool is intended for audio only, but it would be nice to have something similar for MIDI clips if they are going to be used a lot.
/ Note 1: There appear to be restrictions on what MIDI files can be imported, at least for me. MIDI files with multiple tracks do not appear to be supported, which makes sense, but I have some MIDI files which are only single track, and will not import.
Any ideas on other ways or recommendations on working with audio and MIDI clips is welcome.
