Why can't I use iziCast directly within the AUM app?
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to understand why I'm not able to use the iziCast app directly within AUM (an audio mixing app) for live streaming, even though I can use Audiobus to connect the two apps.
Here's my current workflow:
- I create a mix in the AUM app
- I then send that mix from AUM to the Audiobus app
- Finally, I use Audiobus to stream the mix to the iziCast app, which then sends it to an Icecast server for live streaming.
This workflow works well, and I find Audiobus to be a nice and fast solution, especially for simpler tasks.
However, I'm wondering why I can't bypass Audiobus and connect AUM directly to iziCast for the live streaming. Is there a technical limitation or some other reason why this direct integration isn't possible?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes. It looks like AUM can only send its outputs to Audiobus or hardware, but not to other IAA apps. It might also be significant that iziCast lists Audiobus support, but does not list IAA support.
Hi Uncle Dave, you are right! I dared to ask Daniel from Izicast and he answered:
that is correct. iziCast does only support Audiobus but not IAA and I currently have no plans to add support for it.
So you are not doing anything wrong. The way you do it is correct and the only one that works.
Thanks for the help!
