Random and Chaos Walk Out of a Bar

…taking a sixteenth note with them.

Hint for musicians… the time signature of this composition is 15/16.

Warning to all others..
Do not attempt to tap your feet or dance to this beat. Doing so may result in serious personal injury. For professionals only.

I found out it’s hard to swing in 15/16 time. I think I may have sprained an ear. Sequencer(NS2) didn’t quite know what to do with it either. Lots of manual note moving. I’m ready now for something straight forward like 7/8. The weird male voice-like sound is a Flowtones preset. Hope you enjoy.

Don’t dance to this without insurance! Really, really good! Great composition, arrangement, and production. Dig it!

Edit - I can’t stop listening to this. So much variety. Every part is completely different, but everything transitions so smoothly and seamlessly. The melody lines remind me a little of Zawinul. I can imagine Jaco singing the vocal parts. This is super duper!

  • @Paulieworld Thank you my friend. Even though I tell myself I do this for me, it’s so gratifying when people like you take the time to listen and notice all the painstaking work. 🙏

  • Really, really good! My 19yr old drummer son got right into it. Having taken him to see Steve Hackett recently, playing things like Dance on a Volcano, he's got right into odd time signatures. He also loves swing, being a fan of the Dilla feel.

I can definitely feel Weather Report vibes but also later 70s Genesis (both especially with the choice of lead synth sounds). Even a bit of Steve Hillage.

  • Wow, so many things happening but all done so well. Everything fits together beautifully and the time signature just makes it all sound so fresh and different 👌

  • Great track. I like how your tracks keep evolving with a surprise at every turn.
