Over 40% off right now, I couldn’t resist, showing sold out on Polyend website…

  • Good eye. Were you wanting one? Right before Superbooth, do you think there’s a Mk2 coming?

  • I would buy one…
I have this nice machine bought a couple years ago.
    Such a great machine

  • Any good trackers on iOS?
Would love to see Renoise on iOS

Thank you! I wasn’t planning it, but I’d just found a Medusa for a bargain locally then I saw the Tracker sale. I’ve always been interested mainly because I like Polyend as a company. I appreciate how intentional they are about their design - each product influencing the next and how much they care about their customers. It’s possible that an MK2 is coming, although the Mini hasn’t been out too long. 🤔

I think mk1 is fine and using a tracker means (for me) less is more.

Sunvox is a very powerful tracker for iOS.

  • @Stuntman_mike How are you liking the Tracker so far?
I was on the fence for 4 years, and finally bought one last week from Sweetwater.
It's a fun, inspiring box. Easy to make glitchy drums and chiptune arps.
The line output is really low though, I'm glad I recently bought a USB audio interface with extra mic preamps.

  • @StudioES how is the midi out to Daw,iOS or hardware?
Does it sync well? Any limitations with midi out?

  • @tput73 I haven't tested MIDI Out yet.
I briefly tested it synced to my Akai Force, and it stayed tightly in sync. According to the firmware release notes, Polyend has made big improvements in that area. You can offset the Clock sync too in the Config menu.

  • @StudioES thanks. Watch a couple vids on it just now too. Very attractive box. Might have to do it once and for all.

  • Go for it! I've haven't used a tracker sequencer in decades, most recently just dabbling in SunVox and Sinusoid, and it only took a few hours to get my head around the Polyend Tracker. It can feel a bit like working in Excel, but I've never used anything that's faster for creating glitch drums and chiptune arps. The Roll FX is fully-featured. The Fill feature is very handy too.

Welcome to the club. Here's a little ditty to get the juices flowing:

  • I got one also, have not had time to dive in, however.

  • Here's my first song on the Tracker. Still learning it.

    Good job, very creative!
I finally got my PT and see why it is so fun 🤩
Something about the interface and its clicky-ness that makes inputting stuff addictive. Great build as well, feels very thoughtful. The immediacy of the vertical workflow is genius! I put it next to Medusa so they can make music together lol

  • Oh you have a Medusa as well! Very nice, wish I would have grabbed one when they were available.

I'm loving the Tracker so far, best $359 I've spent in a long time. I'm going to order the case and a few more adapters from the Polyend shop, and also a Sandisk Extreme 256GB SD card from Amazon, so I can put my entire sample library on it. It looks like it needs to be formatted to Fat32.

Here's my 2nd Tracker song, more like my usual IDM/Glitch/Noise. Exploring its generative features. This is just a 32-bar pattern.

Yeah, Medusa was on my wishlist for a long time, I took it off when the price went up and it was discontinued then saw one listed locally on Facebook marketplace. The guy had up for sale for a long time then one day I offered him $500 cash and he took it! Medusa is one of a kind and last update makes her more potent.

I totally see why people fall in love with the Tracker. Cool track btw, love the sound choices!

  • Y’all are right, $359 is a bargain for this device 👍

I’m having fun syncing PT to my MPC One 😆 I know that might sound redundant, but I like the cut and paste sound of PT sample play mixed in with my synth play patched in my Model 24 to the MPC. I feel like I got a hardware AUM workflow going, with my synths and samplers as plugins. Chicken/egg madness!

  • I wish my Force had the 2 FX lanes of the Tracker. Automating rolls and other glitchy FX is hard on the Akais, other than basic ratchets. It's so fast to do on the Tracker.

How's it syncing to your MPC? Does it drift after a few minutes? I tested it briefly, and it seemed okay. I remember reading that in earlier firmware it would drift. Looks like Polyend has improved that according to their release notes.

Yeah, PT is fast and surprisingly fun!
The sync with MPC was a mess until I went into the PT config I adjusted sync compensation to zero 😆 it was default to 6. It’s perfect sync now 🙌🏽

  • Glad to hear it. I'm glad I waited 4 years to buy it. There are still some bugs, like it freezing when scrolling through radio stations.

The 'Preview' function in the Pattern Editor is handy. Being able to highlight just a small chunk of the pattern and play only that part makes editing much faster. No need to wait for the pattern to play through.

Also the 'Render Selection' which is like resampling just a small chunk of the pattern, which helps overcome the 2 FX slot limitation.

  • Anyone got the Tracker Mini, how’s the build quality because I’ve read mixed reviews, thanks in advance.
