MIDI BAR COUNTER FOR LIVE PLAYING [SOLVED]
Hi all,
does anyone know of an app on iOS that can display bar numbers or even just a 1-2-3-4 counter during live performances to allow correct timing when a click track can’t be used, without this feature it is like playing blind and is difficult keeping in time.
I have Mozaic and thought perhaps there was a script that could be used for this purpose.
Any help very much appreciated 🍻

Hello, @rapidfire.
I found the following.
https://patchstorage.com/big-host-clock/

I’m very amateur so I may have misunderstood what you are saying. In that case, please consider my post as merely a "bump".
Maybe "BFM - Metering Suite" ?

cramdog you are the man 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
You correctly understood everything I said and thanks to you my live playing will now be 1000% easier.
Thank you big time 👍
@_ki has made some of the best scripts on Mozaic. Such useful and generous work.
Hi HarlekinX,
Thanks for suggesting BFM Metering Suite. I checked it out on YouTube, but Mozaic “Big Host Clock” v1.5 has a display that is more easily followed, even though BFM numbers are larger and more clear.
@HarlekinX Cool, that the „Big Host Clock“ really gets used for what i imagined it to be usefull ;-)
I am wondering a bit about your screenshot: All the unicode characters used in the pads are underlined with a brown line. This is not the case on my iPad Pro 10.5. I also checked with Cubasis and in the same bar range or by adjusting the plugin display height - but these lines didn‘t appear.
But maybe you enabled some kind of ipad assistence mode, as the standard buttons of Mozaic (NEW, LOAD, SHIFT …) also are underlined.
Hi ki,
This application is something I have needed for years, you are a genius for writing the script ⭐️
All I did was open the midi effect, selected Mozaic from drop down menu, tapped LOAD and selected Big Clock. I took a screen shot as Cubasis was playing to show the 16th dots, apart from that UI looked the same when stopped. I am using iPad Air 4
Here is a screen shot starting from bar 1 and not playing
Here a screenshot how i expected it to look:
.
I just now checked various Settings / Accessibilty / Display & Text options of the iPad and found out that the Button Shapes feature is responsible for the underlining of text of Mozaics buttons and the pad labels in your screenshot.
I am not the OP :-)
Also tested your amazingly useful Mozaic script. It even reflects the time signature. Impressive.
Thanks to @cramdog for making it known.
Here's a screenshot from my installation. No brown underlining.
Uups, ok. Then kudos go to @rapidfire 😀
Maybe for your live play, deactivate that Button Shapes option in the ipads Settings / Accessibilty / Display & Text to get a clearer readout of the hostclock.
Hi ki,
You are absolutely spot on with your fault finding, the display is now clear of brown lines and the graphic lines on the numbers have vanished too, very very much appreciated. This is one midi application that I will constantly use every time I use Cubasis 👍
