Wait, what? Those must be some long lights! Sounds good though. I really like Cykle.
Thanks for checking it out! A combination of crazy long lights, so long at times that people start thinking the lights aren’t working…., and traffic jams where you can do a few things for minutes at a time.
Cyckle allows for fast results with the randomization function and the visual UI. I know I am barely scratching the surface with it…. I am using it more often in my music since it’s easy to create variations with a few mutations.
The drums are also very easy to do thanks to “Bleep” which also has a randomization function that is super fast to work with.
Of course this is not mixed, has no eq, has very little sound design other than presets, but it is cool thanks to those apps!!
Really loving this vibe. Cykle is such a great sequencer plugin.
Thank you for checking it out, and yes it is an awesome app! I am hoping to make something new tomorrow and use it again.
Looking forward to it my friend.
Hey there, hope all's good! So, I made a little melody yesterday:
… and it got me thinking, I normally stumble upon my song bones, in other words I accidentally create them, but when I tried to add some structure using tonality in this case (the pads AU), it didn't quite work out and I had to give it up.
Any app you suggest for starting with more structured composition? Something where I can pick chords that mesh well and build from there? Plus, any quick tutorial vids to dive into without too much prep? Thanks!
This first tune you posted is a lovely little piece. I love the subtle variations (assuming that's the randomization creeping in).
Thank you!!! It is 100% the randomness from Cykle and the fact that I used a Gauss loop also helped in the variation. Most of the time my melodies are based on repetitive loops to which I add more layers. In the case of the first one in this thread I didn’t need so many layers because of the variations from cykle.
This is really nice, thanks for sharing!!! I will ake my iPad on the school run from now on )
Lmao!
It really is a very simple melody. And it really is mostly accidental. The recording of the video I did it at home.
I am so happy to hear some of you are liking the things I make. Thanks for the comments.
Enjoyed the first one , nice feel to it.
Re your question about chords, Scaler 2 comes to mind although personally I struggle to get to grips with it (just me 🤨)
It’s just had a big update in the last few days and there are lots of videos for it.
Ditto Scaler 2...
or Suggester 2
I need to learn how to use scaler. I have purchased it but I am yet to implement it. Thanks for checking this out and your comments!
Here is another little jam using loopers. Also keeping it simple!
I don’t think I used any effects other than ODC.
This time I used the overdub function on Gauss which is a game changier for me.
