Help with recording midi effect unto the track
Lately I’ve been using cubasis and zenbeats. I haven’t been able to record a midi effect over the track. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. In cubasis when I press the record to track button it shuts off the sequence of the midi effect. Only when I turn it off it will play and I can’t record my sequence if it’s off. The same thing is happening in zenbeats. In zenbeats you have to go to print midi fx. They have worked before and with the same apps that don’t work now for some reason. I’m not to smart when it comes to midi. I have no understanding of midi messages, routing, cc numbers. All that’s complicated for me. I tried finding videos but don’t know which to look and didn’t find anything useful for printing midi fx over a midi track. I found a useful article in the Beatmaker site that uses this app called Midi tools by Audioveek to record Rozeta into BM3 but isn’t available anymore. I looked into Moziac patchstorage. Couldn’t find nothing. If I missed something in patchstorage or AB forum I wouldn’t know. Can someone guide me to the right tutorial or even some wizdom to a wizard like me.

What midi effect are you trying to use? What midi instrument is on the track?
The more details you share about the setup and the steps you have taken, the better answers you’ll receive.
My current session I’m using Rozeta arp with King of Fm. I had explained how I was trying to rexord the midi from Rozeta unto the track and isnt recording midi from Rozeta. It should normally record by tapping Rec To Track and the midi records. Lately I’ll tap Rec To Track and the midi from Rozeta stops playing when it should still be going. This means if the midi isn’t playing even if Rec To Track is turned on, then it’s not gonna record.
Reading between the lines, it sounds as though when you play the arp with the keyboard it works. Then I think you've recorded the notes you played to the piano roll without Rec to Track engaged. So now what is in the piano roll is the notes you played. Now you're engaging Rec to Track and expecting those notes to trigger the arp.
The routing doesn't work that way. Notes don't go from the piano roll to the plugin. They only get to the plugin from the on-screen keyboard or another external source.
What you need to do to record the arp output to the track is remove the recorded notes. Then engage Rec to Track and play from the keyboard. The arp notes will be recorded to the piano roll.
I hope I explained that clearly enough. If not, or if I've guess the rest of the details of what you're doing wrong, please let me know.
If you want to record the notes played and then send those through the arp, there's a way to do that.
Add another midi track and set the instrument to "No Instrument". Then expand the routing for the track and set the output to the track with King of FM and Rozeta Arp. Now put the pattern with the recorded notes on the "No Instrument" track.
In that way the notes will enter the arp and can be recorded to the track.
I tried this. It didn’t work. I’m better of finding a capable app to the job I ask.
Everything I wrote works. I verified all of it myself before writing and again just now.
But move on if you like. Good luck. I hope you find a workable solution. 👍
When I freeze the track, it freezes the midi arp melody in place with it. I’ll just have to work with it like that as audio track for now. Until I find a solution or fix what’s wrong on my end.
