Yes. He is a famous guitarist.
I discovered him some time ago looking for videos of John Mayer. Absolutely an astonishing guitar player an a decent singer
I saw him in concert pre pandemic. He was really good.
I think he hangs out on the forum aka @GeoTony 🙃
Isn't that the audience we're all seeking?
I liked this style when the Allman Bros did it at the Fillmore back in 1971. Still sounds good today.
The title is pretty generic, but I'd rather ask you, @LinearLineman:
Did you want to dedicate this thread only to Joe, or is it possible to add hints for other inspiring guitarists here?
In my dreams @MrStochastic 😊
He is an excellent guitarist… the video from last month of him playing with Matteo Mancuso is worth checking out. MM has an unbelievable technique.
Sure, go right ahead.
Thanks, I had three names on my list. The first was Matteo Mancuso, already mentioned by @GeoTony above.
The second is Guthrie Govan and the third is Mark Lettieri. All three are great and extraordinary guitarists.
I’ve heard him, but I don’t hear anything that progresses music one iota. He reminds me of Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan - settled into playing the same things over and over with some very expensive collectible guitars and amps.
Unpopular opinion, I know, but when people raved over his music I could appreciate his talent, but wish he’d do something with it.
X2 for Guthrie!
Bonomasa has a good mind for the business of touring. He books the venue markets his own shows. So he doesn’t split the proceeds with ticket companies or local promoters.
He’s also a gear freak with hundreds of classic guitars and amps in 2 locations:
Nerdville East and Nerdville West - his electric guitar collections and museums.
When we talk about talented guitarist, my newly discovered guy is really great, Henry Acker from Boston…
Have been on several tours since age 14 and seems like a genious to me…
Btw Joe Bonamassa is also in a rock band called Black Country Communion. With Glen Hughes (Deep Purple), Jason Bonham (Son of Led Zep drummer), Derek Sherininan (Dream Theather).
Thanks, I like this kind of "supergroups". Dead Daisies and The Winery Dogs also come to my mind.
Your welcome. DD and WD are good too.
