Nope, modern Apple devices account for this sort of thing, you should be fine
Since my own very old (in relative terms) iPad Pro battery loses power at the rate of 1% every couple of seconds while it's being used, I have it attached to a power supply permanently.
It won't hurt your iPad.

I think it does have an affect on battery life, but not anything that significant. Probably not something to lose sleep over.
Just to add one more data point: I have kept mine (two since 2016) connected almost all the time without any problems.
Haven’t noticed any problems other than maybe a bit of a weaker battery but that’s irrelevant for me since it’s almost always plugged in when I use it
