Logic Pro 11 Announced
Lots of really cool thing in this release.
Session Players, Stem Splitter, and ChromaGlow make Logic Pro for iPad and Mac smarter than ever

"Logic Pro for Mac 11 is available on May 13 as a free update for existing users and for $199.99 (U.S.) for new users on the Mac App Store. Logic Pro for Mac 11 requires macOS Ventura 13.5 or later. For more information, visit apple.com/logic-pro."
Yeah!
Generous of Apple to get new updates for free to Logic Pro Mac - I bought it for 11 years ago and have never ever paid a cent more than 200 bucks 2013 - impressive!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Digging in to the Logic for iPad page, it looks like there were not significant UI updates to the built-in plugins, which is something I was hoping for. Oh well. But there are some significant new features in addition to what is mentioned in the press release
I guess we'll see what the final release notes look like in a week!
LP has had pitch correction for a while.
Shows how much audio I record!
Yeah that really drives me nuts, everything looks the same and it's so difficult to both find various functions and get a feel for what you're doing. I really hope it's on the roadmap to get proper UI for the various plugins.
But, we haven't seen screenshots of every app into Logic Pro for iPad - Sculpture and ES2 as an example...
In about six days we know more...
Lots of the new cool stuff requires M class CPU. Bye bye iPad mini
And I guess: no midi controller support for now…
Yeah, I would've traded some of the new stuff for that
M-series Apple silicon is recommended when using Session Players on iPad.
M-series Apple silicon is required when using Stem Splitter on iPad and Mac.
M-series Apple silicon is recommended when using ChromaGlow on iPad. M-series Apple silicon is required when using ChromaGlow on Mac.
Why are you sure that this will be lacking in version 11?
This thread is about Logic Pro for Mac...
I am not sure, but I guess it since I find nothing about that on the website…
Why should Logic Pro after 30 years of development lack MIDI controller support??
Because most of their target audience doesn't need it. Not saying I agree, but if it was that critical they would have included it.
The conversation is getting confused between Logic Pro 11 for Mac, which of course has MIDI controller support, and Logic Pro for iPad, which as of version 1 does not. I think they would have mentioned if they were adding it for v.2, but we’ll see. I’m sure the release notes will have stuff that didn’t make the press release.
Last posts before mine were taking about the iPadOS version.
Yes, of course! Apologies!
👍👍
On the iPad you can use a script to map MIDI controllers to any plugin parameters. Not the same as full controller support but really useful none the less on a 'per-track' level.
I have been an avid Ableton user, but I've heard the plugins and synths are superior in Logic Pro. Can Logic do Ableton style live audio looping or is that all done in Apple Loops ?
Sort of, there's a audio clip matrix for loops similar to the session view in Ableton.
The absolutely best with Logic Pro for Mac is that it’s only on Mac - we’re avoiding random people on buggy and weak Windows computers that will complain on Logic, when the problem is the weak and bad hardware they have…
It’s a reason that 8GB RAM Macs runs better than 16GB Win hardware…
Yes, Live Loops are like Live's loop view. Also you can use an iPad as a remote to trigger the live loops.
cool..I never quite got into the Apple Loops thing, but sure it's not hard. Thx
