New M4 iPad Pro no MagSafe charging…
I don’t know about you guys but I think this is a big loss. A dedicated charging option to free up the thunderbolt port really helps a lot with flexibility and reliability when it comes to dongles.
That being said, doesn’t it already have wireless charging, otherwise how would the Magic Keyboard be able to do pass thru charging? I’ve tried to find a “MagSafe” type charger for iPads that support Magic Keyboard but I couldn’t find anything.
Old complaint but getting pretty annoyed at Apple investing insane amounts into the power of these things and kneecapping hardware and padOS functionality, not even asking for much…

Magsafe port on iPad doesn’t make sense - it’s a mobile device, more movable then a laptop, so it doesn’t need this loading option…
Better with two Thunderport 4 ports for loading (PD) and Data Transfer…
Think also when you forgotten your magsafe cable at home and you are longtraveling from home, pretty sure that it isn’t that easy to find a another suitable cable…
True, but I’m only going off “official” rumors. I assume it’s never gonna happen to get two ports. MagSafe was rumored as possible.
The Magic Keyboard charges the iPad through the Smart Connector rather than wirelessly.
I’ve been pretty happy with the keyboard for pass-through charging. The times that I’m using my iPad and changing it at the same time are usually the times when I want it on the keyboard.
But it does seem crazy that there isn’t some sort of Smart Connector charging option other than the keyboard.
