Metalshop Of Horrors

Every now and then I get in a mood to do something like this. I just started creating dozens of short bits of audio and MIDI in Riffler and dropped them into Cubasis on tracks 1 and 2 as a stockpile of stuff to work from. Then I arranged them onto other tracks in no particular order. If nothing else, it was fun. Kudos to @jon_bell for Riffler. If you like that sort of thing, it’s the best.

  • Interesting song, thanks @Paulieworld. How did you prepare drums?

The drums were just some bits from Blocs Wave with a few additional tracks using some of the default drum sounds in Cubasis. I mixed them back a bit because they were clipping like crazy. Thanks for listening to my nonsense. Have a great day.

  • Your version of "no particular order" trumps my "agonized over for hours" by a few million miles. I really am impressed with your ability to make things fit together. Always a fun ride to be had from a rockin' Paulieworld track.

Thank you so much, Mac! Happy belated b’day to Anthony. Have a great day, guys. That’s a direct order!

  • Ordered chaos. Maybe it was the CPP?

    Must be that secret ingredient.

  • Smashed that heart on soundcloud. This one is absolutely up my alley (old prog drummer). Notes, notes, and more notes. Crazy, shifting, odd rhythmic passages. Oh snap, gotta start counting to figure out what time this is in. Loved it.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate that, especially coming from a prog drummer! I had a lot of fun with this one. Riffler is the best for this sort of thing. I found that the audio output can be sliced and diced, and pasted back together to create some crazy stuff. Your comment made my day. Have a good one!

  • Impressive mash you did here ..😃

"Mash" is a really good description of the way this came together. "Hack and whack" also works. Oh well, it was a lot of fun. Thanks for listening!

  • I can just picture you in the ‘old days’ , razor blade in hand, cutting and spicing lengths of tape… great work 👍

It was fun... when we got it right. We were always a bit nervous about cutting tape. Miss it by an inch and we ruined a roll of Ampex 456. It was expensive stuff. We really didn't know what we were doing. Good times! Thanks for listening.
