yeah, the price is a bummer but if i had the money i buy it.
In terms of keyboard MPE controller the Polybrute 12 is way better than the osmose for me personally. I did not like the feeling of the osmose and there is no cross over for piano playing as a controller, here with the Polybrute 12 you can get the best of both worlds. MPE and normal keyboard controller.
i wonder if Arturia have a patient on this keybed? if they release a cheaper synth or controller with this keybed it will sell a ton!
infact if there is no patient then some other company will be using this keybed.
Their own marketing calls it patented and theyve trademarked the term FullTouch too.
I've forgotten whether I've already seen the patent, and the devil will be in the detail, eg exactly which aspects of the implementation are patented rather than the broader concept. I'll report back when I've had a look. In any case how long it will take more options like this to reach market is going to depend on whether others have already been working on their own versions in the past. It usually takes much longer than you might think to bring such things to fruition, eg just look at how long it took between ASM bringing traditional poly aftertouch back via their Hydrasynths and how long it took for competitors to start to be able to offer something to compete.
Aside from this synth having a traditional synth action feel to the keybed, its other advantage is that by blending the expression with the envelopes, they've made it far more likely that people will actually make their sound patches/presets properly take advantage of the expression. I think this is an important step because even in the current era where we now have rather a lot of hardware and software synths that support MPE, the number of MPE presets for the majority of those synths has been less than attractive, often negligible. And that goes both for factory presets and those that people sell or share. And Im including a whole bunch of Arturia soft synths from their V collection which have supported MPE for some years but tend to lack presets that take advantage of that feature.
I really like Arturia so i hope they can keep some exclusivity... if they release a cheaper controller version of this keybed that is ;-)

Im not making any judgements until I get hands on it. The key bed on the original Polybrute was the worst I’ve ever felt on any synth over $1k, it really let down an otherwise amazing piece of kit.
good point, incidentally i hate the keystep keybed, it hurt my hands after extended play so i had to sell it unfortunately as i love that thing.
I don't think you can bend notes by wiggling your finger on the key anyway, like you can on the Osmose.
This separates the software to the hardware.

Once they’ve maximized their profits from keeping that keyboard exclusive to the Polybrute, they will hopefully add it to the AstroLab and make that thing worth the money. Then, at some point in the distant future, release a KeyLab with it to compete with the Osmose.
This is just my personal observation and it only applies to poly brute OG…

A performance monster!
The FullTouch keyboard on the Polybrute 12 has me interested more than the sound.
I've never laid hands on the OG Polybrute so I don't know what the complaints are about that keybed. The keybed on the Polybrute 12 would be a new model, yes? I hope this tech shows up in other Arturia synths soon.
For anyone who has owned a Matrixbrute or Polybrute, what are your thoughts on the build quality, the software, and Arturia support?
The build quality on the original PB is super good, high quality all the way. Except the keyboard, which just had a super light touch and feel cheap by comparison to the high quality of the rest of the synth.
That's too bad about the PB keybed. I hope the new FullTouch is better quality.
I'm intrigued by the expressiveness of the Polybrute 12, the design is impressive. It looks like a big synth, though, and it's expensive.

The morphing capabilities are awesome, you can do so much with that little morphee pad.
The algorithm introduced me to this synth and the guy behind 'Venus Theory' who does a bunch of very high quality sample sets for DecentSampler and Pianobook, including 'Polyscape' (for free) featuring sounds from this synth.
He seems like a genuine nice guy and talented too, so would like to share this here.
