How to transfer a Song from File App to Music App on the same device

HI, I have some song that are in my files app that I would like to transfer to my music app. I cannot use my current computer as it is so old it does not even see my iPhone anymore.

My phone does not give me an Icon for the Music App when I try to transfer the file. It seems like this should be an easy task but I am ignorant on how to do it

Apple Music doesn’t let you move files into its library on iOS.

    Dang it

  • You need to use a computer with that. You cannot take a song from the file app on your iPhone and move it into your music app on the same iPhone without using another device

  • In this current world of streaming, Apple is still counting dollars/paranoid about people moving music files around on their own. SMH

    So Sad

I doubt that it’s related to considerations of potential income loss - what would Apple have to lose by a person being able to move files into the Music app?

That a really bad decision of Apple…

A matter of facts, I’ve earlier got subscription to both Apple Music and Tidal Music Steaming Service (HiFi), but, as soon I realized that Apple is blocking the audio if you screen record on iPad/iPhone, I ended my subscription on Apple Music…
