Uhg! iOS 8 accidental DL
I know this is the AudioBus forum but I figured some savvy user might be able to help me out.
I never intended to dl iOS 8 until the dust settles but today I noticed the spinning thingamajig on my iPad 3 when connected to wifi indicating something was trying to download. I have the option to not auto dl checked and nothing in the app store was dl'ing. I checked the software update section and iOS 8.0.2 was selected but paused. Looks like only a fraction was dl'ed according the progress bar.
Clearly I don't want to continue dl'ing so any ideas how to stop it altogether?
I am a bit skiddish to try to hard restart the iPad or connect to iTunes on my PC because of the unknown.
I am not sure if the paused dl status slows down my wifi connection but that spinner makes me subconsciously think so.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Ooops!, Sorry then, my mistake.
So no choice for our partner.
iOS 8 will not install when you're charging your iPad. Let it finish downloading and simply delete it by going into settings>General>usage. Slide on iOS 8 and the delete tab will be visible. Just tap it and goodbye iOS 8.
What @supanorton said. It won't download that version again after you delete it. There is no way to keep new versions (e.g., 8.03, 8.1, etc.) from downloading unless you keep your wifi off. Just let them download and delete them until you're ready to update.
Thanks for the helpful advise. I knew this group of users would steer me right.
I'm so relieved to know I can still keep on trucking with iOS 7.
Is it going to install itself or just download? It downloaded to my iPad automatically as well, but I deleted it in general- usage. Still on 7.1.2 on iPhone and iPad.
Edit:
Oops, didn't see the other responses!
No, it will not install itself.
