Multiple USB interface devices plugged into hub, but AUDIOBUS on iPad only shows one of the devices
Hi,
I have both a Fender Tonemaster Pro and a MOTU M2 hooked up to a USB-C hub which is connected to an iPad Pro M4 running iOS 17. AUDIOBUS on the iPad only shows the Tonemaster Pro input and outputs. If I unplug the Tonemaster pro from the hub, the M2 shows up in AUDIOBUS.
I don’t really need to see the Tonemaster Pro in AUDIOBUS but I still would like it to be hooked up to the hub so I can control it via the iPad. There is no current way, that I can see, to completely disable the usb audio interface on the Tonemaster Pro.
Is there a way to make the M2 show up instead of the Tonemaster Pro? If not, what is the reason why one is chosen over the other, technically speaking?
Thanks

iOS treats the last interface plugged in as the interface. In Control Center, see if both interfaces appear. It may let you choose which to use. If not, plugin the one you want to use last.
I see ok. Thanks for the info. Yeah control center isn’t giving me any options. Essentially if I leave both plugged in, the Tonemaster pro is always the one that shows up regardless of then order, session to session. Meaning if i plug the M2 in last, yes, it will show up, but then if I unplug the hub from the iPad and then plug it in again without changing the order of anything else, the Tonemaster pro always shows up, unless I unplug it.
That just means the Tonemaster is the slowest to be recognized when everything is started up at the same time. The last recognized device takes over in all cases. It's an iOS, not Audiobus, limitation.
(Logic Pro is the only host that has overcome this limitation. Hopefully Apple will make whatever they have used to accomplish that available to other developers at some point.)
