Best Ios compressor 2024
Could you advise me on best compressor in 2024? Is it magic death eye(ddmf or stereo?) or some fabfilter ?
Or maybe something else? Any input will be appreciate. I’m making mostly instrumental hip hop in beatmaker3

Depends on what you're looking for in a compressor and what you wish to apply compression to. DDMD's Magic Death Eye Stereo is possibly the best compressor you can ask for regarding putting it into the mastering chain. For a decent allrounder that doesn't break the bank, Toneboosters' Compressor is $9 and works on both iPad and iPhone. For OTT-styled compression, there's BramBos' WooTT plugin. For hotdog-styled compression, there's FAC's latest release called Smash.
Of course when it comes to the drums in HipHop, you definitely need something like Caelum Audio's Beef (what I've used for adding sauce to HipHop drums) or FAC's "Punchlab" (which I've quickly tested on drums, and it sounds baller). While not compressors per se, these two plugins are imho crucial for adding secret sauce to drum samples, especially if the drum samples are pretty dry.
@Mateusz there is honestly no ‘best’ compressor. Just different flavours depending on your need.
For a really clean compressor I like the Mani Mix Bus Compressor https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/mix-bus-compressor/id1467711076 I have compared it with the FabFilter and they are pretty much identical in cleanest modes so I often choose the Mani for simplicity.
Then if you want to get into different analogue emulations and different compressor detector types then there’s a whole selection of compressors to try out for VCA/Vari Mu/FET and different types of saturation etc. It depends if you’re using the compressor on vocals, drums, mix bus, etc.
If you have mirack you can mess around with the compressors there and see if you enjoy them. I like Pressor by bogaudio
If you have a newer iPad and don’t mind spending $5 for a months worth of testing, install Logic Pro for iPad and compare using the built-in compressors. Then you’ll at least gain some experience with the different types and how they work for you.

Pro-C gets used a lot in my projects
Rough Rider 3 (free and really low cpu ) and Bleass for transparent.
Mixbox vintage compressors for subtle vintage color.
FAC Medusa, Brambos WOOT, or Barkfilter for sound design and smashing.
Koala FX is good enough when I'm feeling lazy.
Unless I’m using OTT compression, I generally use Fabfilter Pro-C2
MDE is all I use.
I concur with this, it’s really hard to go wrong with Rough Rider 3 (free and even does sidechaining well), and Bleass compressor is really nice to use, great UI with useful visual feedback. Woott is awesome for that special sauce.
Schlap and Smoov are overlooked gems when you want just a bit of color.
I haven’t really given the FAC compressors much attention but I intend to change that, everything FAC produces is top-notch.
There are so many good compressors on iOS! I’m leaving out a few good ones honestly but they’re getting their due in the thread. It’s a really well-represented category of plugin on the platform. And as others have mentioned, the built in compressors in Logic are fantastic too.
If I could only buy one, Baby Audio IHNY2 would be my choice for Hip Hop. The basic version is free, the full version can be bought through an IAP.

Did many of you had a chance to use it?
Is it good for main chain or better for sound sculpting? It doesn’t break a bank tho.

I was just to post the same opinion as you - the different compressors into Logic Pro for iPad is really really good, usable, but, if I should choose a stand alone compressor, maybe FabFilter, extremely high quality plugins…
@Mateusz If you have Drambo, there's a good chance that you don't even need another compressor.
In some of my compositions, I have a compressor on every track with its own individual settings plus a few EQs and, when I need to hit it hard, TB Barricade on the master bus.
More creative uses are possible with side chaining, using its Envelope output and the Graphic Shaper.

Smash is not only hot-dog style compression; it can also be very gentle.
My two cents would be to start by sticking to the 'Normalization' preset and lowering the center smash knob. Play with that setting, and it’s probably enough. Additionally, the central visualizer provides a nice view of the pre/post FX waveform.
The final limiter is only required when you push the wet knob above 0dB or when you start to blend the dry one (or when the output meter is red). If you keep the wet knob at 0dB and the dry knob off, Smash already manages for you any hot incoming signal that could exceed 0dB.
Also, you can toggle between single and multiband processing (top left in the UI) to see if you prefer the multiband version, which offers more enhancements. The 6dB filter slope setting is super safe, ensuring everything remains in phase—great for parallel processing. Most multiband processors use 24dB or 48dB, but here you can choose the one you need.
The Red Rock Sound compressors are free to try.
I tend to reach for Bleass Compressor because of its ease of use.
Medusa is great for coloration and upwards compression, although Pro-C and Pro-MB can also do upwards compression.
Mixbox has the legendary LA-2A optical compressor, as well as a compressor based on their H-comp, and other iconic compressors.
Woodpressor has adaptive and non-linear settings.
Roughrider 3 is free and an all round workhouse.
Nurack has both a compressor and Multi-band compressor.
SunVox has various Multiband compressors, NY compressors, and bitcompresors.
Korvpressor, also fun.
