Well I’ve already started with bleass effects 🤣

This is really cool. I’m digging the sound of that percussion.

Thank ya man! The filter automation and delay on the hihats gives it a lot of movement.. was fun to mess with it!

Gave this a shot in Drambo. Cheated a little bit by sampling the drums into flexisampler, but they came from Monolit. I need to get better at arranging, but I like the sounds.

Nice one. Monolit does have some pretty unique sounds.

  • Now I’ve listened to all submissions, good thing I did it after posting, might not have dared otherwise.

This is chill man i dig it! Could hear a nice verse over top this!

  • Awesome tracks @reasOne @McD and @tyslothrop1
Now up to date with the latest submissions
Will try to squeeze some free time to do something later

  • Keep up the great work everyone! :) I'll be listening to the tracks shortly.

  • @reasOne , @senhorlampada
    Thank you very much.

I hope there'll be more challenges like this, really fun. I started doing something for the viking one, but chickened out. Maybe another challenge with some free synth and byod as the only allowed FX would be nice, so everyone is using exactly the same tools.

  • Great work @jwmmakerofmusic , @Fruitbat1919 @reasOne , @McD and @tyslothrop1 .
Here is my contribution. As well a Monolit (and of course GeoShred) I used the apps associated with AUM so think it fits the rules 😊

  • Awesome track @GeoTony
    The king of GeoShred

  • Aw shucks @senhorlampada 🫢
Surprised there’s not been more posts for this one ?

Really cool piece, I admire the mix of careful planning and improvisation on top (I suspect that's what you're doing?). I'd like to get in a headspace like that:).

  • Finished! I used logic,so many plugins feels like a cheat. But tbh I’m still learning logic so it was a good idea. Arrangement, I just find it easier to work with audio, so I bounced everything down, moved it to auria and moved it around. I know it can be done in logic but I find it easier to organise and see things. Then bounce back all neat. My adhd brain can’t work with the mess my adhd brain leave behind in its wake 🤣 so more work but ultimately faster.

Big thanks to @taeo for the patches. Kick and I think I might have got the wonky lead by manipulating one of them. Can’t remember exactly, which caused huge issues when I was trying to deal with some horrible clunkiness the mastering accentuated. Big lesson.

  • To all who posted here: really enjoyed everyone’s submissions. I’m pretty certain I’ve heard them all now. I think I preferred this challenge than the Viking one, but we must be running out of decent freebie iOS synths by now lol. Would like to see a challenge with Mela 5 as instrument and all the fx apps crept maybe compressor and limiter, but that’s quite expensive as iOS synths go with all the options, so probably wouldn’t garner as much interest.

I wouldn’t really call this a challenge to many of you whom could probably make a fairly decent tune on an old rusty pipe!

There's still primer 2 and the spectrum bundle seems to be available again.

Haven't tried primer yet, but I've read it's good and the spectrum bundle is pretty awesome (polyphonic mutable instruments ports).

I'd like a spectrum and Byod challenge.

I would like TC11 to become free and us do a challenge with that lol

  • Groovy @squeals
    Really digging this. :sunglasses:

    Nice track!

  • A big thank you to @jwmmakerofmusic for proposing this challenge (and the soft deadline) and to all the contributors for showing what can be done:

    @Fruitbat1919, @reasOne, @McD, @tyslothrop1,@squeals, @GeoTony

Thanks too, to @taeo for those presets.

I’ve taken the Kymatica route (AUM, Dub, Space) and Helium, Euclidean, Atom and midiGATES for the sequencing and automation duties. The file was a live performance using Monolit. I’m not going to pretend it was easy to arrange without being able to see the all the tracks at once.

  • Lovely tracks @squeals and @AndyHoneybone … so different but that just shows how creative people here are 🙏
What about Decent Sampler as a free source of sounds for another challenge ?

Dang man! Nice freaking work here!! Love the arp changes and energy!

  • @Fruitbat1919 Your track was utterly pleasing to listen to. :) You did an amazing job with sound design in Logic, and the music flows so nicely.

@reasOne A really great live jam you did in AUM. And you've utilised Monolit and Bleass effects quite well. That said, my only critique is - I wish the music went on for just a little longer. :)

@McD That was so pleasing. Lovely, and it felt like I'm floating in space. But it wasn't that type of drab Ambient but rather quite musical. Velvet Machine was one of my goto effects for Ambient back in 2022, so I'm pleased to hear it used so well here. Well done, sir.

@tyslothrop1 This is so cool and hella creative. :) I really enjoyed listening to your track. I think I should really get into Drambo after I finish my current EP/album.

@GeoTony A complete, satisfying 6 minutes. This jam in AUM was great to listen to and watch you do live.

@squeals You were right in this being a banger. Had a great time listening to this one, nodding my head along with every kickdrum.

@AndyHoneybone Really great piece of electronica you made in AUM. That was so cool. :) Reminded me of early Jean-Michel Jarre to be honest.

All in all, top tracks! :) I'm so pleased to hear everyone's submissions and hear how each of us interpreted this challenge in our own unique ways. Well done everyone! 👏

Haha thanks man! I was going to make it a more complete song but i got wrapped up and never really got it worked out! But now i think ill actually use this synth after playing with it and hearing everyone’s work!

Very cool. Something if an Other People's Place vibe which I mean in a very good way

  • @jwmmakerofmusic thank you:) I found dRambo a lot of fun after knowing how to route signals and how to modulate parameters. Of course you can get as deep as you want in Drambo, but to me that's where it gets really powerful. Just using 2 xy-pads (or as many as you want) and hooking them up to some fx-parameters can give you awesome hands-on FX and that's easy :)

  • @espiegel123 thank you for listening and the very flattering comparison:) I didn't know the other people place before, just wanted to give them a quick listen to know what you're talking about and listened to most of an album, and probably not for the last time.
