  • I had a go at this yesterday for 20 minutes and it’s fantastic! Divided by 13 is one of the best boutique amp builders out there and it’s great to have a Nembrini version of this 11 watt combo amp. An unorthodox release for Nembrini. It has kind of a Tweed voice but also has great cleans. There’s a lot of awesome bass and low mids on tap and a brilliant treble. It’s a super thick sounding Class A gain type amp, like a Vox with a Tweed voice but with headroom for cleans. I love how this thing rumbles in the low end, a real pleasure to play, and Nembrini really knows how to get that character and feel in his amps. It gets really rowdy, fuzzy, mid-gain amp, rather than a high gain amp. The reason it’s not too dark or bassy is because it also has A LOT of treble. It reminds me a bit of the Nembrini Soundmaster but with better tonal color in the bass and treble. Also has elements of Hivolt, Ecstasy, and VoiceDC30. This might be my favorite of Nembrini’s lower gain offerings.

The IR module is expanded too, looks like he added features from the IR Loader app. With that being said, I put some actual pedals in front of my interface and the CJ11 did not take them well. The other Nembrinis take pedals really well, like the Cali Reverb set clean for example. I think it’s because of the new expanded IR filtering sections, and so the harsh and rumble should be adjusted accordingly in a situation like mine. I personally like the simplest approach when it comes to IRs and don’t care for options like mic positioning and axis, but I know many other love that. If the new norm with Nembrinis are these full featured IR modules, that’s great!

I have been picking Nembrinis over Tonex and TH-U on a regular basis now. I love working with the visual of an actual amp and hear it respond to my adjustments. Tonex and TH-U sound great but they’re captures that don’t want to be adjusted too hard and I’ve been finding that limiting from an enjoyment perspective. Plus, Nembrini really knows how to infuse analog character and feel into his amps. And the CJ11 no exception, bonafide instabuy for me and instantly pleasurable.

After TH-U I stopped buying Nembrini Amps because the super clean amps offered in TH-U are so good. But then I heard @flo26 (who deleted his account here) demo the Amplitube Custom Shop Fender product and I feel in love with the 57 Twin.

But I will trust your advice on the beauty of this products clean production and see if I can get excited to maybe play some more guitar before I sell off the lot. I just sold my PolyTone Taurus Elite amp because it’s time to downsize to be ready for that final move. I still have way too much excess hardware and need to keep maintaining a love of IOS alternatives. It’s all about the headphones now and never about driving a large speaker.

UPDATE: I purchased and opened the standalone to see the interface… worth mentioning that there’s no Reverb in this amp. The IR’s are 6 famous cabinets and 4 famous mic’s with axis/off axis and position and distance settings. I’d expect some simulation of various rooms. Time to break out my Tele’ and iRig or Audio Interface.

If you have a chance try a Quilter Superblock, I prefer the UK to the US. It can power a cab, but it’s really great for at home playing with headphones. Can be powered with a wall wart or a pedalboard supply. Onboard reverb, takes pedals. Can go to an IR loader in frfr mode. It is an actual amp, not a digital pedal. I’ve been cheating on my iOS apps with this thing, it’s just faster to plug in and go.

If you like thick and vintage, divided 11 fits the bill perfectly.

I've bought the Faceman last week and it's now my go to amp for the bass... but for clean guitar sound, I still highly prefer the Extasy, the BST and the Cali.

Do you have the Faceman? If so, how does it compare? That was going to be my next Nembrini purchase.

Fender Bassman is a favorite amp and I have many of the emulations out there. There are several versions of a bassman, 50s tweed 4x10 combos, early 60s Brown/Blonde, mid 60s black/brown, late 60s into 70s Silverface, etc…

Nembrini’s Faceman is a 60s blackface which has a trademark scoop character and zing, but plenty of low end and multiple inputs for guitar or bass. It’s basically the AB165 circuit which is also present in the silverfaces of the late 60s. I actually love an early 70s pre-master volume Silverface Bassman, 1970-1972.

However, many people associate Bassman with the Tweed version, which is also great but a different circuit altogether. So the Divided 11 is closer to the Tweed bassman sound, or a Fender Champ, or a Vox. It’s quite a different animal.

So if you like mid scoop and cleans alla Fender Twin, lots of zing, get the Faceman. If you like lots of mids and a thick vintage character, get the Divided.

I own a Fender Pro Jr IV for my tweed fix, amazing amp. For my scooped needs I have a Music Man head which is very close to a Fender. Once in a while my wife takes the kids out and I get to crank them…

    Hello everyone,
I have not bought any Nembrini amp sim since a long time.
Tonex and overloud are enough for me.
Nembrini apps sound great but tonex has so many great amps in it.
    But who knows?Maybe later.

  • Nice to see you here, @flo

Hi @flo 🤗 it's cool to see you back here 👍🏻.

I think you're right and I regret not to have bought Tonex SE when it was on sale... the more I listen to demos of any genre the more I think that it's capable for every single tone.

  • @Gratouilli ,
    Thanks.
Yes,tonex will definitely fill all your needs.
That being said,Nembrini amp sim are definitely among the best.

  • @flo I’m also very glad that you’re posting here again. Welcome back!

  • Thanks @Schmotown .

  • @flo good to have you back in these parts again..

    But who knows?Maybe later.

Great to see you back @flo . I see quite a few divide by 13 captures in ToneNet. Are you using the one uploaded by cbradleyguitar

I had a go at this yesterday for 20 minutes and it’s fantastic!

I've bought the Faceman last week and it's now my go to amp for the bass... but for clean guitar sound, I still highly prefer the Extasy, the BST and the Cali.

Thanks for the information, guys. What a time to be alive...my electric guitars are happy!
