Support requests

Hi all

I am interested to hear about auv3 app companies that you have had positive support from when you have submitted a support requests. I won’t name the companies but out of 5 companies I have contacted for support I have only received 1 email back!! This has come to the point where I am considering getting a laptop.

Thanks

Lea

  • A laptop might be fun to use, especially if a Mac with Logic and/or Live.

That said, I frequently keep in touch with a handful of smaller devs and one-person operations. Most times about daily life or showing off what music I made with their apps. 😂 I almost always hear back from them. And if I find a bug, I'm usually replied to in a couple days max.

Back when I used a Windows laptop, I had a similar experience with support requests, and it always seems the smaller group of devs/singular devs are more interactive with their userbase than larger companies.

The exception seems to be Steinberg from my personal experience. They are always on top of their game when it comes to fixing bugs in Cubasis, and Lars is very much responsive. And of course we can't forget Michael, creator of AudioBus and Loopy Pro, who is also very responsive. :)

  • I have generally had good experiences with support requests on iOS. I find most devs will try to help if they possibly can. Not just the ‘one man band’ type devs, but even some individuals from the larger companies have been very helpful. I have even had some company reps send me links to downloadable samples to help me out.

I don’t think it’s the norm for bad service on iOS. You will get bad service at times anywhere, but I think you’ve probably just been unlucky.

Sugar bytes have always been prompt and helpful for me (two or three separate times)

I also got a quick response from Igor Vasiliev about an issue that was my human error

  • I got in contact with HumbleTune, Igor Vasiliev, BLEASS and Michael (Loopy Pro) and they all replied me in a very helpful way in 2 days at max. Not sure it could get better than this!

  • Andrea of Elliott Garage was extremely responsive when I contacted him via his Discord. He personally walked me through my questions until they were solved.

I’ve invoked Bram Bos’ name a few times on this forum, and each time his response has shown up quicker than I expected.

Another vote here for Sugar Bytes. I got a personable response even for a trivial concern 🙂

  • Pat from Moforte (GeoShred) and Fernando (Piano Motifs) have always been nothing but excellent.
Audio Modelling (SWAM), Jon (Riffler), Jonatan (AUM) and the ChordJam and Beathawk people have all been fine for me.
    No bad experiences 😊

  • Thank you everyone who has replied I will take a look at the suggested apps and developers

You don’t need support from the developers when you have hundreds of skilled persons here on AudioBus Forum - just sayin’…

Skip the laptop and enter the fabulous world of touch experience…

  • That’s a great point actually, I have been helping out on this forum so many times, it’s a great place.

  • In addition to the ones already mentioned, I’d like to add Matthew from AudioKit and Dave Hilowitz from Decent Sampler. Very responsive about bug reports.

Also the Neon dev and Quantovox have been great and both are active on the forum.

I’m sure there are many others. The vast majority of devs want to make a good product and value their customers.

I’ve often been amazed at how quickly some devs respond - many are one person working alone, or maybe a couple, and I suspect many have day jobs as well, so I kind of expect to wait a little for a response.
