Logic Pro for iPad 2 Stem Splitter performance
I tried Googling this question but came up empty, any input appreciated.
I've been experimenting with Stem Splitter on my Air 5 M1 and have been pleasantly surprised. It's not perfect, but compared to the online/cloud processing websites I've tried it's easily a big step above.
Whatever AI/spectral seperation is going on is impressive since I have loaded a stereo mix, then split it into the 4 seperate stems, and when I mute/solo between the stereo track and all of the stems together it sounds like the it's nearly the same file. I'm not sure I could choose which is which in a blind test.
I'm no computer engineer but I'm curious if the Stem Splitter would yield higher performance with better Apple silicon chips. (i.e. would an iPad Air 6's M2 or an iPad Pro's M4 produce better sounding stem seperation than an M1 chip?) Or is the tech red light/green light meaning it will work the same with M chips and won't with anything less?

I think it's about how quickly the operation will be done since it's using an algorithm but the results should be the same across all devices. I could be totally wrong tho
You're probably right. If the M2 & M4 could effect performance of Stem Splitter beyond just making the seperations faster you'd think Apple would tout the higher chips, but that company is hard to predict anyway.
