Autoselect Audio Devices bug

It seems like Logic 2.0 introduced a bug in which I can no longer manually select audio devices by turning off “Autoselect Audio Devices.” If I have a device plugged in (Volt 276 or Roland Aira synths) Logic will default to using them for both input and output. If I turn off Autoselect Audio Devices, I don’t have a list of audio devices anymore. Does anyone else have this same issue? I want to record in through the iPad mic and monitor through my audio devices and now I can’t!

It’s weird, I can change outputs using Control Center when I am not in Logic, but as a soon as I switch back to Logic my output options go away. I am stumped:

I am on 17.5.1, iPad Pro 11in 3rd Gen. Logic is up to date.

  • IDK man, but on a side note, the S-1 rules

Because we’re on the same thing almost using the s1 I went out of my way to go and get the cables and try it out for you man

And it works on my end like samu

Can I ask you this? Was it working BEFORE 17.5.1? I hear 17.5 was a real screwup and the .1 was a hotfix but was it good on 17.4.1?

The S-1 definitely rules! I find myself using it a lot more than even my Prophet Rev2 just because it’s so quick and portable, and the sequencer and effects are so good.

Thanks a ton for checking on your end, I was able to get it fixed by hitting Reset Logic Pro in my general settings. No clue what was up. My patches survived the reset process so it looks like this was a harmless reset.

    NP dude

The S-1 is an interface as you know, and sometimes it gets finicky….idk if it’s because it’s so small and does so much for its size, that sometimes the interface and or software need a little jolt . I have had to turn it on and off once or twice to get it working how I want.

(And yes, it’s so easy to dial in, but I was even lazier and bought surface builder and the momo controller for it lol, it’s macOS universal so it’s worth it)

Woah I did not know about this… can it save sequences too? My #1 complaint about the S-1 is that the pattern slots are all always lit up whether or not there is a preexisting patch loaded into that slot. On the T-8 and the J-6 the empty slots always show up empty unless a user patch is saved. Makes me nervous about accidentally overwriting stuff so I end up scrambling around for a minute each time I turn it on.

It can’t save sequences but it can save patches!

And I know - the one thing I wish about these mini machines is they had better memory/access

But lmk what you think about the surface builder , it really helps avoid the menu diving and you can run it standalone or within logic
