Is there such a thing as a midi controller that can go really low?

Like -3 octaves or something? I’m having fun with dagger synth making clicks noises, was wondering if there were a midi keyboard that could go really low… and if so would dagger synth be able to go so low?

  • What the octave is labeled (-3, -2, -1) is variable, but the lowest MIDI note you can play is 0 in any case. Most controllers should be able to play that.

If your instrument can be independently tuned and/or transposed, that may help get lower than the lowest MIDI note available.

Cool thanks that’s good to know. I can tune the oscillator in app to get a bit lower and if I want it slower I’ll just sample it and slow it down, thank you!

  • Drambo frequency shifter.

  • Don't forget about pitch bend!

  • You could also use Streambyter running in the background to transpose incoming MIDI notes, for example, in case you're using Dagger standalone.
