Question: audio step sequencer for ios?
I'm looking for a step sequencer that lets me add my own audio files instead of sending midi or triggering an on board synth. I prefer something with an interface like Xynthesizer or Werkbench, but I really need the option to add longer audio files. Also, I need as many tracks/channels/lanes whatever they are called, so that I can create very elaborate soundscapes. If anyone knows of an app that can do this, please let me know.

Beatmaker 2.
BM2 is nice in this respect when using the auto loop function in the beatmachine device. Any other apps you can recommend? I like to be able to determine the start position of the sample. BM2's auto loop functio only lets me determine the loop length.
you can determine the start point of any sample in Beatmaker 2, don't use auto loop
@Calcutta: I was aware of that, but it was the auto loop finction that gives BM2 the kind of functionality I'm after. I'm looking for an app that lets me place audio files directly on a timeline (or another format to determine the files relative position to other audio files. I'm looking for an. Intuitive realtime performance oriented app, that lets me loop individual files and use loops of dofferent lenghts. I have Loopy, but although it's nice, it's not exactly what I'm looking for. Gumdrops is more what I'm after. Too bad I'm not a programmer, I'd love to create an app from the ideas in my app. It needs to be a sound canvas with drag and drop looping functionality, the abilty to use touch gestures to manipulate the sound and change things on the fly. There are a lot of great apps out there already, like loopy, samplr, figure, etc. but I'm still missing something.
Novation launchpad?
Thank you for all your suggestions. I think Samplr still is the best app available to suit my needs. I'm looking forward to its next update which is in the works.
See what you're driving at. Would be interested if anyone else has some more left-field suggestions....I am doing some soundtrack work and what you suggest might suit that well.
A bit old and no AB, but have a look at iSequence... It's quite good.
Audioprom is nice, unfortunately you're unable to add samples as of now. It's missing some key features and hasn't been updated in almost 4 years but it's only 0.99 and I like the UI. Anyways, this one came to mind. I haven't contacted the developer but perhaps they could be persuaded to add these features.
@Christian: I just had a look at Audioprom. I hadn't heard of it, but it looks really nice. I have a weak spot for those lesser know apps. Other examples in this category are square beats, Poly and Dronefx.
Not exactly what you're looking for but You could use a daw app to create a single large audio file that has lots of evenly spaced loops in it. Load that file into samplr and set it to one of the fixed size slice players. Polyphonic loop away...
@Syrupcore: yeah Samplr is great for this.
I've just begun to rediscover Electrify NXT myself. It takes some time to learn all the ins and outs of the app, but when you get the hang of it, it offers some great tools to create music.
