Thanks. Maybe if I think of it as a vinyl album I can finish one side and then forget about the b side and move on lol

  • Interested to know why you think it’s unfinished ?
Perfectly enjoyable track full of variation and nice touches. Only thing missing to me was the placement of the instruments i.e. the stereo imaging you referred to. Draw a line, move on to your next piece, I’m sure it will be another good one 👍

I have extended it a bit with a new part, but definitely wanted to then bring it back up in intensity again. I have started some other ideas though and moved on. I usually have at least a few ideas on the go. I think with most of my demos not feeling finished to me is that I really get bored at the final stages of making tracks. I do enjoy playing about with music though, so it’s all good finishing tracks or not.

Thanks for the positive comment though!

Agreed. Your production level seems on a par with mine. Lol, meaning good enough. It could have another line unless it’s more trance music. Got very good around 5:00. Might benefit from a collaboration. Maybe @McD would be good. You’d be sure to finish.

Posting here and, maybe, SoundCloud or BandCamp would be good. BandCamp is free minus %sales. I enjoyed it. Keep us updated.

  • I am really glad you shared these 2 demos. I probably got more engaged with Tangerine Dream than any of the early synth-based groups because of the film scores they created starting in the 70’s.

I can relate to never feeling a work is finished… but always not having any desire to do that really hard
work to feel that it’s “complete”. My creative StaffPad threads calls these efforts sketches and after 2 years of sketching I can go back and listen to something from the early year and listen to it with complete detachment. I can hear things I could change or “fix” but it’s still a pleasure to just revisit the
sketches and enjoy them with some distance and detachment.

I hope you keep sharing. You will develop a small but hopefully supportive audience.
