@Svetlovska this is the album I mentioned to you a month ago after you commented on one of the tracks. I hope you like it and the weekend as well.

  • How many are you Mike? I mean, it takes me 2 days to produce something. I need some cooldown before polishing any piece. Basically, I could, if I wasn’t slave to inspiration, and if I was drinking a bit less, publish at best 1 album every 6 weeks. Pretty sure I would crash badly.
That means I will NEVER catch up on you.

  • @jo92346 the unexpected advantage I have is the composition time. Improvising is instant composing, so I only actually play about an hour to get an album’s worth of material. I could never have imagined the skill I learned would be so helpful fifty years later. It certainly wasn’t intentional!

Also, I don’t labor over polishing (as can easily be heard!). After the improv I try to expand it to get a musical feeling across. That feeling is dependent on the gestalt, not the detail. I have improved my result with judicious midi editing of the improvisation, and with less complex productions, usually not more than six tracks and often less (which I know you approve of😉).

Finally, since the composition is not fatiguing and the arrangement/ mixing is rarely more than 2-3 hours I don’t need much down time. It is an unusual situation, bolstered by my lack of perfectionism.
I certainly understand my approach is not traditional in any aspect.

Have a fun weekend, bro. Stay loose.

  • Even though you don’t spend much time polishing it up, they come out sounding polished. Your tracks don’t sound overladen with effects either which make them sound clean. Nothing in the way, just your musical ideas to enjoy.

Haven’t listened to every track on this album yet, but what I’ve heard is great.

  • Thanks a bunch @Dav. I hope you’ll enjoy the rest.

  • I think I had heard all but 2 or 3 of these before but repeat listening doesn’t diminish their worth in any way.
Some beautiful, gentle, heart warming creations here…
    Nothing bad to say 🙏

  • Thanks @GeoTony. Merrily we roll along.
