Is caustic good for synthesizing vocals?

I was wondering how can one go about synthsiszing vocals they want to import into their ipad. Is Caustic 3 good for this? or am I better off using a synth or can I use grainsynthesis or alchemy for something like this?

  • Yes, it has a vocoder.

  • But is it worth the money though or is it better to use a synth instead?

  • I'm guessing that part of the answer will be found in knowing what you hope/intend to do with it...

  • Thanks @telecharge: Caustic 3 Vocoder video... erm, wow... I had no idea...

I need to go and play.

Well Im thinking an autotune like effect but with an app that would be able to be used via audiobus or audio copy so I could use it in BM2 where I draft songs I create.

  • I will stick with the Novation Mininova for my vocoding until something better comes along for IOS. Perhaps soon but for now the Mininova really outshines Caustic vocoding and it is easy.
