Dont sleep on gatelab for pads and drones!

I forgot that i had this app! I’m sure we all say this about a lot of apps ☠️

So last night i loaded it up and was running my digitone through it in AUM, then stuck alteza after gatelab to fill in some of space and make it drone a little.

I Was more then surprised with the results. I filled in almost every step and added some ratching to a few steps along with some half steps, and speed it up to 1/16t.

My pad came to life! It was subtle enough to really just add some texture and not get too glitchy especially with all the reverb at the end it the chain, added some modulation to the lowpass and resonance and I’m on my way to building a track.

I sampled the crap out of so many pads i filled up a koala session with different ideas and lost about 2 hours 😊

Highly recommend trying this if you are looking for some more alive drones with a lil splash of texture and break up the monotony.

  • Side note: Don’t forget to press play to activate gatelab 🤣 should be obvious but i had a few moments where i was like “why isn’t this working”!!!

Sounds lush. Really like sounds like this. I spend hours some days just listening to sounds like that as I find them relaxing :)

Nice! Thank you for telling everyone.

  • Really awesome

  • When I first downloaded Gatelab it never actually ran, it just crashed every single time before I could even use it...so I forgot all about it. This has inspired me to give it another go!

if you fancy making a drone for this, it’s in A Major Blues scale mostly somewhere around the 50th bar might be about right. Only if you have time or get bored :)

  • Just checked
    I already own it
    Will play later
    Thanks for the inspiration
