Synthmaster 2 preset management issues
Trying to delete presets…doesn’t work for me. Anyone else?

Might be a good idea to add "can't delete presets" to the thread title so folks who have the answers know how to help you better.

The preset system is broken in SM2 unfortunately. The developer knows, and hasnt decided to fix yet. Maybe for SM3? 🤷🏽♂️

Yeah - we can only delete our own made presets in Synthmaster 2 for iPad…
Yep, that's a problem, but it also has some database issues where if you save a preset the regular way in the app the doesn't "see" it properly to delete or bank it. It can get nasty with duplicates and stuff.
I thought it was ”by design” that we couldn’t delete stock & commercial presets in SM2?
Have @kv331audio_bulent @kv331audio made any official comments on this issue?
Thanks for the detailed info! It’s a bit too far for me to go for a synth, so I’m gonna use something else.
It's easier than you'd think once you get going with it, but i get it, bugs like this can be a bit of a buzz kill.
At one point i bought it to Bulent's attention on a Synthmaster 3 thread on KVR. He acknowledged it while not promising a fix for SM2. That's all i can tell ya.

After years of trying different ways to delete presets from SM2 - the answer is still no.
I had many discussions with different members of KV331 Audio team concerning disappearing Midi Learn Parameters, presets changing their positions in their allocated banks each time new presets were added, they all had the same reply…”it will be fixed in the next update”, or “it works ok here”. Only way to remove a preset from a bank is to create a new bank and name it DELETED, then go into the preset to be deleted, tap info (top left) type DELETED in the bank field, delete any authors name, tap SAVE/Save Preset, this preset now resides in the bank DELETED, but this preset still remains in the ALL presets list.
You will see in my KV331 posts that you need to add a prefix number to each preset you save in your own banks, this allows correct Midi bank/preset CC selection, using the standard save causes presets to slot in a bank alphabetically, therefore moving previously saved presets to a different position in the list. I now have no problems at all with preset house keeping, the only remaining problem is the randomly disappearing midi learn parameters!
