Vikings
Here is Vikings - the third track from my upcoming album, Songs From The Inner World!
I have always been interested in Vikings and was inspired to write this song quite a few years ago now in Cubasis. But thanks to today's technology and plugins I was able to give it a new lease of life!
Hope you like it.
Songs From The Inner World will be available on Bandcamp at http://amultitudeofone.bandcamp.com and all the usual places from 19th July 2024.

I love this! Dad was 100% Icelandic. My grandfather (Avi) came to Chicago during the Great Depression and did quite well as a master carpenter. If we still lived there, my name would be Paul Reynirsson. They have very strict rules regarding names.
I have very fond memories of the house on Fulton street. We would play croquet in the yard until dinner was ready. For dessert we often had Vinarterta. It was delicious, but it had to sit for at least a week to ripen. Have you ever had Lutefisk?
If so, you would remember!
Thanks @Paulieworld - nice track.
No, I don't think I have had Lutefisk but I have visited all the Nordic countries (except Iceland) and remember some particularly smelly herrings in Sweden!
My cousin Hofi (Hölmfriður) was Miss Iceland of 1985. She didn’t care much for Lutefisk either! I guess it’s an acquired taste. My grandmother (Ama) would bring some when she visited. She stayed in my bedroom and stored it in my sock drawer.
Great track. I am a sucker for choir. What did you use?
Those instrumental/Choir sections are truly epic creations… a testament to testosterone.
I just read a bit about Viking’s taught me they would reach a point on a river where the boat couldn’t go further so they would just hop out and carry it over the mountain to continue their rapin’, plunderin’ and sword killin’ invasions of countries that had more than they could get from the Icelandic soil
of the Nordic seas.
This all inspired Wagner to praise the Aryan Warrior traditions and we know how that turned out.
Only Putin seems to have the will to conquer and invade his neighbors without legitimate provocation.
Thanks @ecou I think it was the Concert Choir in Bismark Bs16i, augmented in places with the Aah choir in Cubasis.
Thanks @McD Yes the Vikings roamed all over the place reaching most of the known world at the time…and also parts of the unknown (New) world well before Columbus.
They also didn’t usually wear horned or winged helmets (even though some are shown that way in my video!) but they were indeed fierce warriors as well as being a cultured people.
Cool song man: I like the vox
Vikings were interesting culture and people; known for brutality it was violence to serve an end (true aryan ethos lol) , their survival and prosperity at any cost; but they also had the most complex navigation system of any people especially during the 1000s, and they established global (domestically speaking in contemporary terms) trade and commerce. Apparently they went as far south as the Arab nations of North Africa and Mediterranean basin, according to one source, Arabs got their light eyes because of the Viking raids-rapes , which is how the Scotts and Irish also became blonde and ginger most likely….too bad they don’t have the show on prime anymore, it was decent
Anyway yeah good track - very scorish
Cheers @yellow_eyez - it was the Vikings TV series that inspired me, actually!
Great track Colin, as I said a while ago the voices reminded me of the famous Old Spice advert music…
Only a day to go before the album is out in the wild 👍
As there is a fishy theme going on here is a little something from Norway a couple of months ago…
Cheers @GeoTony - that fish looks a little on the dry side! What a lovely country Norway (and the rest of Scandinavia!) is though! - if a tad expensive!
ÉG KEM ALVEG AF FJÖLLUM!
