Closest to M1 piano apart from iM1?
Do any other iOS app have a patch anywhere close to the classic M1 piano patch?

What's wrong with iM1?
And which piano patch? There are dozens.
Just a bit expensive at full price. I only want that one sound for a song I’m working on. Doesn’t have to be exact.
There are dozens of piano patches to choose from. I'm not sure which patch you're referring to.
Retro Piano can dial in a pretty recognizable sound similar to some of the straight piano patches. But if you're looking for a more "tine" piano like sound that won't get you there.
The famous one used in 90s house chords. I think it’s M01 01 piano ‘16 or something.
I might just have to get iM1
Definitely not Retro Piano then.
Off to look about ...
I wonder if King of Digital has got it? Just looking now...
Either that, or if you already have Gadget, just upgrade to Gadget 3. All the gadgets will be available to you as AUv3s then. Marseille has both the M1 Piano and M1 Organ Bass.
I tried the Marseille gadget. The sound isn't really very close. I didn't find anything very satisfying in King of Digital either.
I was just about to suggest tagging @jwmmakerofmusic!
do you own pure synth or fm tines? their pianos come close to the 90s house vibe. maybe somewhat richer and more musically.
It MUST be a free soundfont out there that is a sampled version of Korg M1 Piano16!
I’ll take a look…
EDIT:
Found this.

I tried the factory content in Pure Synth Platinum. Closer, but nothing that I would consider as a recognizable replacement.
I'm outta apps that I own to try.
I'll revise my assessment. Of what I own, I'd say the Marseille app M1 Piano patch with some tweaking actually might come close enough. [edit] yeh, I can get a pretty convincing A/B comparison going. Should be OK in a mix.
Thanks all. The Marseille patch gets me close enough for my needs I reckon. I did try puresynth already and couldn’t find one that sounds like that particular patch.
I’ll see if this works with AudioLayer too
some sound fonts -

The Marseille gadget has a couple of internal effects applied to the M1 Piano and M1 Organ, so of course it won't sound exactly the same. But can anyone outside of other music producers really tell the difference? Would the general audience know the difference?
Anyways, @gregsmith , I will say iM1 and its IAPs are definitely worth the price. If I didn't have iM1 already I'd have GAS for it. 😂
I loaded the appropriate Soundfont from the link into BS16i and that sounds very good!
Soundfonts are better then it’s rumor…
Yes! I couldn’t even get AudioLayer to open for some reason, but it works great in bs-16. Sounds way better than the Marseille patch.
The M1 is a rompler anyway right?
I nearly got it when it was on sale, but I wasn’t making much music at the time. Next time it does I’ll pick it up.
Understandable. I am definitely invested in the Korg ecosystem that's for sure lol.
No man, Korg M1 isn’t a 100% rompler!
I can’t the details in my head, but, Korg is using a combined technic between samples and modulated technic…
I’ve got an Korg M1 in my collection, but, long time since I’ve used it - probably is the battery empty, and so the factory patches - lucky that I have a Mac also to send Sysex to the M1 for restoring…
