Korg Gadget 3 Information Spreadsheet

edited July 2024 in General App Discussion

I've created a spreadsheet to organize the information on the Korg Gadgets, including pictures of the gadgets from the Korg website and which ones are included by default, which are IAP's and so forth. Please let me know if there are any corrections, things missing, or confusing.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17Rc9BvJ6d94d0n9CGriNUB64cZ6Qhrx4/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=111690081468996497255&rtpof=true&sd=true

*The source of a lot of this information is the cheat sheet from this thread, which is excellent:

Edit: Modified to include actual hyperlink instead of image to the cheat sheet thread.

Lines 47-52 don't actually come from Module Pro, but from other separately purchased Korg apps. Great resource though! Maybe add a column for those modules that provide an AUv3 plugin?

  • Very cool!

    +1

  • @mjm1138 - Thanks! And thanks for the correction - changed those rows. Added a column for AUv3, and populated with ones that I am fairly certain are capable. If there was a doubt, left it blank.

  • Laid out like this, it’s pretty extraordinary to see how many gadgets there actually are.

  • Great work!

Not as informative but also useful is Korg's list:
    https://www.korg.com/us/products/software/korg_gadget/gadget_collection.php

  • There's a discrepancy in the current list that I have not been able to resolve, so any help would be appreciated. If you look on Korg's website under the specifications for Korg Gadget 3, that 20 gadgets are included in the download, however, I'm only able to identify 19 of them. Here's the list that I have of what is included by default (no IAP's, no separate purchase):

    1. Chicago - Tube Bass
    2. London - Hypersonic PCM Drum
    3. Recife - Futuristic Drum Module
    4. Tokyo - Analogue Percussion Synth
    5. Amsterdam - PCM SFX Boombox
    6. Durban - Bass Effect Processor
    7. Rosario - Guitar Effect Processor
    8. Berlin - Mono Synchronized Synth
    9. Brussels - Brussels Mono Anthem Synth
    10. Chiangmai - Chiangmai VPM Synth
    11. Dublin - Dublin Mono Semi Modular Synth
    12. Helsinki - Poly Ambient Synth
    13. Kiev - Advanced Spatial Synth
    14. Kingston - Poly Chip Synth
    15. Marseille - Poly PCM Synth
    16. Miami - Mono Wobble Synth
    17. Phoenix - Phoenix Poly Analogue Synth
    18. Wolfsburg - Wolfsburg Hybrid Poly Synth
    19. Zurich - Universal Audio Recorder

Looks like the midi one, Taipei, is missing from the list

  • Thanks @FordTimeLord - that was it 👍

  • @EdZAB I was looking at your spreadsheet. All the gadgets that require Module (line 12,13,14,15,28 & 29) are listed as ‘no’ AUv3, but they are all AUv3 too.
Line 36 - Comments: Memphis gadget requires iM1 standalone app, that should say iMS20
    Line 50 - iMS20 is listed as “yes” AUv3, but it’s not AUv3 (yet).

  • Shoutout to @crushed for linking this gadget cc midi wayback.

Thanks for the info. I've checked what you provided above by testing out the apps directly, and some of the info lines up and some does not - can you double check or clarify?

These do not appear as available AUv3 modules by name in AUM, for example.

    Lines 12-15
    Alexandria*
    Firenze*
    Montreal*
    Salzburg*

    Lines 28-29
    Glasgow*
    Fairbanks*

Line 36 - Comments: Memphis gadget requires iM1 standalone app, that should say iMS20

    Confirmed and corrected. Thanks!

    Line 50 - iMS20 is listed as “yes” AUv3, but it’s not AUv3 (yet).

iMS-20 can be loaded as an AUv3 module in AUM.

Sorry @R_2! You were correct I was sloppy in my checks.
@alesis - thank you for the correction

These are the Gadgets that are provided 'Korg Module/Module Pro'.
So the AUv3 in AUM that will provides these sounds is Korg Module/Module Pro.

  • @EdZAB :) Only Korg apps currently AUv3 are Gadget, Module, iM1 and Electribe Wave.

You’re correct that the gadgets included in Module (Pro) are not showing up by name in other hosts. But because they are all included in the Module AUv3 I think the No under AUv3 in your list might be confusing for potential buyers.
For instance: Line 25 - “Darwin” says Yes under AUv3 in your list, but the Darwin gadget is not an AUv3. The standalone iM1 is.

BTW, Line 44 - “Zurich” audio gadget is not an AUv3.

Gotcha. I was using the AUv3 column to indicate that the app was able to load as a standalone module under the listed name. I'll add a clarification that they can be loaded through Korg Module. Thank you.

**Edit: Clarifications on the AUv3 for Korg Module apps addded and a couple other minor corrections. All relevant questions and feedback are appreciated. 🙏

Credit to @R_2, @alesis, and @Samu for the most recent info.
