I Will Find You On A Beach

4-Mitosynth
8-iWAVESTATION
1-Ravenscroft

Not really a song. More of an exercise in assembly. I used one pattern from Fugue Machine for everything, making adjustments with the playheads and ribbon controller. Added a final layer of Ravenscroft with Piano Motifs.

The title is a literal translation of an old Icelandic expression.

  • Nice. Love the increase in movement towards the end - and the overall sound choices.

  • Fugue Machine was one of my earliest iOS music apps and I had forgotten how amazing it can be, especially in the hands of someone who has such a great ear.
Like @AlterEgo_UK , I like your sound choices.
Hope your weekend is a good one.

Thank you! I didn’t know how this would turn out. I started with 4 different tracks of Mitosynth, all playing the same pattern in Fugue Machine. I believe the pattern was called Minimal. It only had 4 notes, but because of the clever design of Fugue Machine, I could get a lot of variety by adjusting the playheads along with the ribbon controller. Then I added 8 short sections using iWAVESTATION, each about 8 measures long. Each new section used patches that grew in intensity. I put these on tracks 5 thru 12, staggering each by 4 measures, so they would overlap. Finally, I increased the volume a bit with each track. I only found out what it sounded like after it was “assembled”. It needed something else, so I put some Ravenscroft piano on the last track using Piano Motifs for some melodic MIDI ideas. Hope you found it to be “interesting”. It was a fun, relaxing way to spend a Sunday morning. Have a great weekend!

It’s an oldie, but a goodie. It’s so simple, but the concept behind it is brilliant. I used it in a track called Fallingwater to play some piano lines that would have required hours and hours of physical practice. Instead, I just “hired” Fugue Machine to play it for me… for free!

It’s going to be hot this weekend, but I’m good with that. I just remember the winter days below zero. Nothing planned, so I’ll probably just putz around with my iPad and a few things around the house. Hope you all have a great weekend, too!

  • I always struggle with fugue machine but this is great. Lovely sounds 🙏

I know I should just break down and get my keyboards out and set up in the spare bedroom, but I’m enjoying this new approach. Apps like Piano Motifs and Fugue Machine get me thinking in ways I never would otherwise. I also like being able to take the iPad anywhere, and have done that many times.

Weather here has calmed down a bit and I’m sitting outside now with my little iPad. Hope you’re having a great day!
