Control surface for Drambo?
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make a control surface for Drambo in loopy pro. I’ve created a slider set the output to Drambo and sent CC 15. Go into Drambo and set the knob to cc 15. Nothing. I’m so confused

Cant remember but perhaps you need a midi feedback module.
@Panthemusicalgoat
Can you take a screenshot of what you're trying to acheive in dRambo?
What module/s are you using in dRambo to receive cc15?
Are you mapping it to a Knob module or are you setting the value using the CC generator module?
If it's the latter then there's no surprise, if it's the former then use the Midi Monitor module
direct from the Track midi output to see if the cc message is getting through...
also can you check if Loopy Pro is sending it out to the receiving dRambo channel?
More details needed. How are you set up?
Is Drambo running as a plugin inside Loopy? Standalone? Hosted both hosted in AUM? Etc.?
Screenshots wouldn't hurt.
Basically we need to be able to replicate your setup to investigate where it may be going wrong.
It's working fine here with Drambo hosted in Loopy Pro. I can midi learn CC15 successfully for a knob from the Loopy Pro widget and control it just fine.
Loopy Pro can be a DAW or an AUv3 app
Drambo can be a DAW or an AUv3 app
Of course, you still can’t put a DAW in a DAW.
But you can put both Drambo and Loopy Pro in AUM and solve most problems of MIDI routing.
Putting Loopy Pro and Drambo in Logic Pro or Cubasis is a recipe for breaking things.
Drambo loaded as a auv3 inside loopy. Just want to control some basic things like cutoff from a loopy surface. Midi learn doesn’t seem to work and neither does sending a cc
Cant remember.
Have you tried midi feedback module on tracks ?
Do you mean the midi monitor module in Drambo?
No.
A midi output module before any cc trying to automate.
Set to midi feedback.
Maybe it works.
Like so?
Midi Feedback module is irrelevant here.
@Panthemusicalgoat - can we get a screenshot of your widget settings?
Maybe your MIDI input settings on Drambo as well.
I'm able to make this work, so we just need to spot the setting that needs to be corrected.
Midi learn on Drambo and adjust the knob but doesn’t register?
Before oscilator and it would be for all ccs needed mapping but wim will help.
It probably dosent need a midi feedback.
Looks like CC25 controller data is not sent to Drambo, otherwise Drambo would map it to the selected Cutoff knob.
You can, and it works surprisingly well as long as you don't try to load AUv3 plugins in the hosted DAW.
Yup that solved it. Thank you.
Sweet! Have fun. 😎
Remember, Drambo has no midi feedback, so changes to that knob made in Drambo won't be reflected on the widget. Enabling Takeover mode (absolute CC) in Drambo settings is supposed to help with avoiding control jumps, but it's broken. Hopefully takeover mode will be fixed in the next update, but I can't say for sure.
I don't think the widget value will be remembered on Loopy project save either. There's a hack-around for that if you need it. What you have to do is add another dummy widget on a page you aren't using, then set this widget to adjust that one in addition to sending the CC.
Here I have set up a Dummy widget (on the left) to give the MIDI widget something to key off of to remember its position on project save. The Dummy widget does nothing except get set by the CC widget.
Takeover mode is now fixed in beta by the way.
Oh no! Drambo will be programmed to Takeover?
Nevermind, it has good intentions. And how much worse could it get anyway? 😉
looking respectfully and eagerly for the next drambo update. the crumbs we've gotten hints of across the boards have had me drooling for months lol
