MIDI app triggered by keyboard
Is there some type of app that will trigger/send CC messages to the envelope or filter to open or close to a specific predefined set of parameters, when i press the keys or play a chord on my midi controller/midi keyboard.
I use AUM so hopefully something i can use there, instead of a DAW.
I think @wim mentioned envolver possibly being able to do this but i haven’t quite figured that app out yet.

I’m not sure I understand your requirements but I’d wager $0.99 that Drambo can do it and another $0.99 that you won’t understand how.
Haha drambo and i have never became great friends .
I just watched some envolver demos and it seems like it’s maybe the way. When it hears the audio it appears it can send out a MIDI cc to wherever, so maybe when i hit a chord, then envolver can see that and shoot out the CC message. I just am not sure.
But i want the filter to slowly open and the decay to close and various rates when i play a chord basically
I should add when jamming live, or sequencing.. rather than capturing MIDI data and adding modulation later. I just want to record this audio into samples primarily
FAC Envolver can work the way you describe above.
For a pure midi triggered envelope: https://patchstorage.com/midi-adsr/. I don't think it'll work well with chords though.
Drambo can do it either way, and would let you filter out chords for a midi trigger too.
I knew it. I need to give myself $0.99
I’ll wait for some to explain how and double my money.
There's supposed to be some way to get FAC Envolver to trigger from MIDI input rather than audio, but I haven't been able to get it working.
.
Well… its either pay @McD 99 more cents or try to trick envolver into it 🤣
I think I’ll give it a try and see what i can pull off, might as well grab the rest it the fac bundle while I’m in there, since I’m saving 99 cents now
@reasOne Sorry but I still don't fully understand what you're trying to achieve.
Do you want chords to be recognized? How much delay is acceptable to avoid double triggers?
Send CC messages to the envelope? 🤔
FAC Envolver is extremely clever for converting audio peaks (transients) into outgoing MIDI Notes or CC’s’
I played around with it to tap iPad case tapping ( through the iPad mic) into snare drum notes. I ended up usiing drum sticks to trigger a snare sample. The latency wasn’t noticeable. drambo has similar features like the developer’s Impaktor app.
But a keyboard in implies MIDI notes so a Note to Cc app or script might be the easiest to set up if AUM is being used.
StreamByter is free and can generate such conversions with a single command. But Notes are a pitch with a volume parameter from 0-127 that’s so tricky to dial in with a key press.
Describe more what you expect to do as what you want to hear.
I sent the $2 on a bottle of water encased in plastic.
Idk what I’m trying to do 🤣
Basically instead of growing more hands to twist the cut off knobs, adsr control, volume, etc while playing some notes, i just need it happen automatically while I’m playing my amazing world class riffs.
Normally I’ll record the MIDI , drop it in logic and add automation. But that’s kinda boring and i don’t build tracks in logic, so i end up just sampling that and using the audio. Making this just extra tedious steps that crush my “in the zone”
Instead of recording MIDI and adding automation i just want it to happen live. Setting LFOs to the correct rate and resting with key track is probably going to be the most logical answer , but again i really hate trying to get all that to work out. This is a ME problem.
I think envolver is going to be the quickest way for me to do mostly what I’m looking for
I got a sale on water encased in plastic today for 1.25!! It felt like a steal
Its easy to use a launchpad as keys and automate good ui synths like dagger via screen.
Or a side controller like ec4.
In Drambo.
Does logic not let you automate aus via screen ?
You probably an aum guy ( I can see why ) Aum is also good.
but you probably gotta find a solution.
Parameters via key does seem weird though.
Seeing as you dont have automation because of host choice.
I think theres.
A way to automate cc using Drambo in aum. So its like automating in Drambo.
If you arnt botherd about automation recording. A launchpad and screen or controller is probably better than a small keyboard.
Theres the automation app called ddtctmcc-ff.
Havent used but guess if you do use screen. This would be different. Your playing might be around what the app is doing. You draw automation then update etc. So I guess automation free from a timeline.
Thankfully @brambos rozetta LFO has a MIDI trig option that i just noticed. So When i play a note on my MIDI keyboard it activates the LFO and is behaving how i was hoping!
I like it make it drop back to the min when i let off the keys, but maybe i can work that out with some more tweaking..
Sending to the cutoff in this example
I wish sunrizer exposed more parameters, i can’t modulate the filter decay internally with the LFO or externally, from what i can find
