How to restore ALL settings in Loopy Pro.

I have tested Loopy Pro a lot for a while now - and changed many different settings…

So…
How can I reset ALL the settings in Loopy Pro to default?

I know that I have a “Restore Default Settings” in the Clip Settings, but this doesn’t restore all the changes I have done in the other settings in Loopy Pro.

And as far as I can see, making a complete new project doesn’t restore all settings either.

Do I have to reinstall Loopy Pro “every time” I want to have a new fresh and clean start?…

If you create a new project using Loopy Pro's default project, restore defaults will cause that project to be as if from the freshly installed except that if you have any global profiles active you will need to disable them as restoring defaults doesn't delete global profiles.

Which settings aren't beong reset that are causing you a problem?

Sorry for late responses, my head is miles away from iOS music at the moment.

Well, one question would be: how to create a default factory project? It just works on one of my iPads but the other one opens a project that I’ve created a while ago.

How does the default project management work?

    See:

If your new projects are creating a copy of an old project, it means you marked that project as a template by “starring” it. Unstar it in the project browser and that will stop happening.

If you star only one project, that project will be used as your new default project. If you star multiple projects, when you choose “new project” you get a choice. If you have only one template, long-press new project will let you choose the factory default.

That's what I also thought, but it doesn't seem to work that way – for all settings.
As mentioned at the beginning, the way I've done it is to press Restore Defaults (under Clip Settings) and open a New Project (Loopy Pro's default project). However, not all settings are reset.
In Control Settings, I have no bindings for Current Project or Global Profiles.

    1) Clip Settings: All parameters are reset.
    2) Color Groups: All parameters are reset.
    3) Control Settings: Not all parameters are reset.
    4) Synchronization: Not all parameters are reset.
    5) Clock Settings: Not all parameters are reset.
    6) System Settings: Not all parameters are reset.

As you say, restoring default clip settings doesn’t change non-clip settings. Those settings are generally pretty straightforward to set to what you want (and typically one doesn’t want those touched when resetting clip settings).

Are there particular of those settings that have tripped you up? In control settings, for instance which settings are you wishing to reset when restoring defaults?

I found a starred project that I unstarred but….I don’t see how to star another or multiple projects.

  • @supadom:

As explained on the wiki page (https://wiki.loopypro.com/Templates), in the project save panel tap the star at the upper-right corner.

No, there are no settings that have tripped me up. But as a new user of this app, there are a lot! of settings I have tested - to learn how to use it.

When I've finished testing (well, I'll probably never be done...), there were probably many parameters I wouldn't have wanted to be enabled/disabled in my new projects.

Searching through all the settings to find out which one was "important" to reset to default - or keep, therefore became a complicated task. Now that the app didn't reset all parameters to default - which I thought the combination of "Restore Defaults" and "New Project did automatically", I chose to reinstall the app again.

Therefore, it would have been appropriate to have an option to reset ALL parameters in the app - I think.

Either way – Loopy Pro is an amazing app!!

  • @OlaRos : I would be interested to know so that I can potentially add something to the wiki, which settings that weren’t reset by the combination of restore defaults and a new project necessitated deleting the app.

There is little in Control Settings, System Settings and Synch Settings that should cause issues. I could document what those settings are.
