Importing into Traktor

Hi. Just got Traktor and have a question. You can import songs from iTunes but are you able to import audio from other apps on the iPad? I tried "open in" in AudioShare but Traktor wasn't listed. Thanks.

Comments

  • No you can't . All tracks must be imported using a playlist via iTunes . It's always been a bugbear for Traktor users with complaints to Native Instruments right from the first release

  • Reluctantly deleted for that precise reason :(

  • Thanks guys. Damn it's a great program.

  • Traktor pro users on PC may never have needed iTunes until traktor DJ came along. Many users found that installing iTunes messed up their already organised music collections, because the default options allow itunes to reorganise the file structure and file locations. This is unacceptable behaviour for software but Native Instruments were unable to provide a better solution.
Perhaps now that AB is integrated, Native Instruments will see that music makers could use Traktor DJ. They really need to provide an 'open in Traktor' option for us.

  • Here's another thread you can read through that walks through the same stages of grief you experienced...

No import options are kind of incredible for an app that polished. It's kind of like having this awesome Ferrari out in the driveway that doesn't have a gas tank.

  • @gsm909 Wow NI are idiots. That doesn't make any sense on a PC because you have other media players.

@boone51 Good Ferrari analogy! I guess this isn't Ferris Bueller's Day Off. :)

One option I just thought of that might make it easier is to use Drop Box to transfer music the Mac for importing into iTunes. Then if you have iTunes Match, the songs would be automatically uploaded to iCloud and you can then download them to your iPad. This would be much easier than having to use a cable each time.

I mentioned this on a other thread but i believe you can use ifunbox to dump your songs/ideas into itunes. Not convenient I know but it is an option
