Taking One for the Team: iPadOS 18 Public Beta
Well, I'm just a hobbyist musician, and not a very productive one at that, so I figured what the heck, let's install the public beta of iPadOS 18 on my M1 iPad Pro and see what breaks! So far I've launched a few random projects in Logic Pro, AUM, Loopy Pro, Note, and Propellerhead ReBirth, and no unexpected crashes or glitches that I've been able to see. I'll dive a bit deeper this evening and see if I can find any bugs. If you want an app tested out chime in, and if I have it I'll give it a whirl!
Note that the iPadOS 18 public beta does not yet have any of the "Apple Intelligence" features enabled AFAIK, so I think most of the headline features are UI changes.

I have running iPadOS 18 beta since day one (13 june) - for me, zero problem and hickups!
Everything runs smooth and fluid (iPad Pro M-cpu) and this is something I’ve done every year since 2015 (developer account)…
So, with beta 3.5 now nothing should hold us back to run v18…
Anyone try iPad/iPhone mirroring? How is using a keyboard and mouse on a monitor like for our loved music apps ?
The author/podcaster Jason Snell goes into some detail about it here: http://www.sixcolors.com
Something that might not be obvious, in iOS 18 you can now mark files as “keep downloaded” in iCloud Drive.
I’ve had no real problems with the developer beta so far, a few apps crash on loading into a host but that’s kind of par for the course.
