Variation in Pianoteq 8 Tuning Live on iPad: Processing Issue or Free Version Limitation?

Hi, I'm experimenting with Pianoteq 8 to play live using my 9th generation iPad. I've noticed that sometimes the piano tuning starts to vary. Is this because my processor can't handle the workload or because I'm using the free version?

Should be able to run about a few pianoteqs at 128 buffer.

    Not sure though.

I also use the free version with an ipad 9.

Maybe its velocity between keys you hearing. It maybe adjusts the sound sometimes between keys.

  • It may be the condition setting, just over the keyboard. If not set to mint, tuning may vary. The more at the right (worn) it is, the more tuning will vary.

There's no limitation of the free version that affects tuning, and running audio software underpowered results in crackles and dropouts rather than detuning. Which presets are you using? Some instruments have presets with alternate tunings (mostly historical instruments iirc).

  • I’m also running pianoteq 8 on a 9th gen iPad, haven’t notice any tuning slipping here. Using the paid version of pianoteq 8.

Does the tuning vary while playing the same preset, or does the tuning change after switching to a new preset?
