A slightly surreal Modnetic meander: The Moment She Blinked
‘Time is a storm in which we all are lost.” - William Carlos Williams
Chris Marker’s 1962 La Jetée, inspiration for Terry Gilliam’s later movie 12 Monkeys, is an astonishing tour de force, a sci fi time travel movie told entirely in several thousand still images. Still, that is, except for one hallucinatory moment when the unnamed future soldier/protagonists’ present day girlfriend opens her eyes, in live action. A most fleeting moment, and yet it is everything about time, and making movies, and love, all in the space of a heartbeat. In the blink of an eye. Truth at 24 frames a second indeed.
Never has such a small motion felt so… momentous.
So, yeah. A lot of my own micromanagement of time here, via the very flexible Modnetic tape delay/reverb/thingy, into a live mixed AUM, thence AudioShare. Experimenting with the Enigmatic scale, because nothing in life, in love, is ever really resolved, is it? Except by Time and its tall, dark and handsome consort, of course. This piece is not majorly dark, though. More an experiment. A… craft of love. As it were.
Hope you like it.

Nice test drive… I can never have enough reverb choices and the tape delay, BBD, phaser, chorus, and “clickless routing” sound like this might be my new favorite quick fix for dull audio.
Not majorly dark but still mysterious and strange in a most enjoyable way. I like the percussion throughout. Lots of interesting layers.
Enjoyed this one a lot, not at all dark in my opinion 🙏
