Oscillating Thoughts [9 tracks, ambient/downtempo/electronic, all made on iPad]

Erik Satie called his music 'furniture music' because it is 'music that does not need to be heard'. So, after dragging in one of the geniuses of classical music, I present you my album contribution to 'furniture music', with the recommendation NOT to sit and listen to it but to let it guide you in your activities of the day, or in your car journey or on your headphones during your walk.

Sure, a bit hard to remember everything but I'll try to mention the main apps for each track:
    1) Mariana, Kronecker, Logic Drums
    2) Logic Sculpture, Model 15, Logic Drums
    3) King of Digital, Model 15, Pianoteq, Tera Pro
    4) Pianoteq, Mela 5, Kronecker, SWAM Cello, Tera Pro
    5) Animoog, Drum Computer, Tera Pro, FRMS
    6) Mela 5, Xinematix, Nerd synth, Patterning 3
    7) Model 15, Patterning
    8) Kronecker, Pianoteq, Nerd Synth, Logic Drums
    9) Pianoteq, Tera Pro, Halion (Cubasis 3) instruments

On top of that some effects, mainly reverbs like Rymdigare, Logic reverbs, Cascade, delays Other Desert Cities, Weeping Wall and Logic delays and UA Silo and Fluss as granulators/reverbs.

Half of the tracks were done in Cubasis 3, half in Logic :)

Walking is where I do most of my music listening. Great to hear all those ios instruments being used.

Thank you, glad my idea is "working as intended" 😉

  • For some reason I got a forum notification to check this thread, like my name was mentioned or something. Forum error? Whatever the reason I’m glad it happened. Listened to your tracks. This is a well put together album. Very interesting. The sounds all go together well. I will have to check out Paterring, I like rhythm sounds that provide a good beat without getting in the way.

Not sure why you were mentioned but thanks for listening! Patterning 3 is a great app, probably the best rhythm sampler+sequencer for iOS right now. And on top of that you get access to a massive collection of user created kits which cover a ton of genres/styles.

  • Def going to be jamming this today while i work… played a bit of track one in Apple Music and was enjoying it!

    Thank you!

  • Congrats on the release.

Played the first couple tracks, dig this a bunch. Gonna listen more when I have some time to draw and zone out.

Also wanted to mention good on you to use album . link
I always use song link when I share any music I stream as to not assume anyone’s preferred app. I’m probably one of the few using YouTube Music to this day as it’s included with YouTube Premium and it’s fine enough for me.

    Cheers!

Yeah it's a nice tool. I always use Spotify when possible but I can see how other people may want also free options (Youtube) or other platforms (mainly Apple Music but also Youtube Music as you mention).

    Thanks for listening!

  • The album is consistent and very listenable. It’s true what everyone is saying, that is relaxing and good to listen to while working. The best song on the album is “A Mirror Inconvenience”, at least for me. The other ones are pretty much close. Congratulations on this fantastic album! I can’t wait for your next one. 🤩

You probably accidentally hit the star button in the list.

I had the opposite problem — I missed this but am glad it got bumped.

Love this. Congrats on a successful release! :)

  • I actually listened to the album on Qobuz even though there’s no link.
Also no facility to like a track which I would have done for every one. Great piece of work 🙏
Favourites were A minor inconvenience, Litany and Thin Tranquility but it’s a tough call as they are all excellent.
Lovely consistency of sounds and feel which makes the album even more enjoyable !
